Osmotic-controlled Release Oral delivery System (OROS)

The OROS (Osmotic-controlled Release Oral delivery System) distribution system of methylphenidate found in Concerta has been suggested to last up to 12 hours extended release. Any experiences with this claim of 12 hours? Or any suggestions on using such a complex tablet release system?

I think this post belongs on this board

Also, it depends on a lot of factors like metabolism and diet. For some it might last 12 hours, for some 10, and for others 8, etc.

Re: Osmotic-controlled Release Oral delivery System (OROS)

My experience: It definitely didn't last 12 hours. . . conservatively, I would say I could feel the effects for 7-9 hours or so, though Concerta didn't really work for me, so I can't really say that it was *effective* for any length of time.
