Taking shower with cold water.

I watched a video about increasing dopamine receptors in youtube. According to video to take a cold shower increases dopamine receptors. I tried a few times and it helps me to focus a little better but only for a short time period.
Have you ever tried cold water?

Re: Taking shower with cold water.

Hmm.. the only type of cold shower I do is a cold water rinse on my hair because its supposed to help seal the hair shaft and prevent splitting.

Supposedly taking cold showers regularly increases confidence. I'm not making this up.

Do You Have Any Idea How Cold Is the Tap Water in Canada Right Now?

Less than 1 degree C, I'd estimate.

My tap water comes from a nearby glacier. It melted last summer into a mountain lake. It spent the winter below the frozen ice surface of that lake. A few days ago it made its way several hours downstream below the frozen surface of a fast-moving river, an into a heated treatment facility (heated to keep it from freezing for a few minutes). From there it flowed into water mains buried 3 meters (10 feet) below the frozen ground level (so as to be below the frost line so the pipes don't burst). It comes into my house about 2 meters below ground level. When it arrives upstairs, it hasn't warmed up very darn much. It tastes very refreshing, but it chills my hands into numbness and hurts my teeth as I brush. Surely showering in it would carry a risk of heart attack!

But still I might have to try this cold shower sometime. The hype is intriguing, although some of the science looks a little iffy: https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/hea...day/ar-BBUq4zD Testosterone I can get by prescription, but stimulating that little blue spot in my brain sounds like an experience not to be missed.

Remind me to try this in...oh about August.

Re: Taking shower with cold water.

I took cold showers for 10 days after hurricane Irma in 2017. It sure didnít seem to help me. I felt like it was difficult to breathe from the shivering under the cold water. If anything it made me more irritated and stressed.

Re: Taking shower with cold water.

It is refreshing, I tried some 20 years ago for a few weeks until WINTER CAME

I was quite skinny then and it felt like a chore, unpleasant challenge.
