Suggestion on finding a decent specialist?

Any suggestions on finding a decently qualified specialist in my area. I currently live in Gilbert, AZ and I have health coverage through Aetna HMO. I've been over Aetna's specialist list, and trying to decide is difficult, and the locations that I've called either don't have any opening, or don't seem to know what they are doing.

Any suggestions would be helpful, as I'm looking for help, but stuck.
I was looking towards psychiatry specialist as trying to find effective medication is probably my top priority, counciling and therapeutic support after that.

Thanks

Hi ... I'm in Scottsdale, and I know a bit about a bunch of psychiatrists in the valley ... pm me with some of the names you have and I'll see if I can help.

Tip from my old therapist (who was fabulous)

Call them. A considerate professional will be willing to speak with you and answer your questions before you decide to see them. Going to a specialist is hiring a person to do a specific task for you; you wouldn't hire a caterer or a contractor without interveiwing them, so feel free to "interview" a specialist for the best care available.
