Re: I hope you can give me advice/enlightening..

I have a question for everyone that has ADD or other diagnoses/problems that you needed help with: Did you understand from the beginning that you need treatment, that this wasn`t something you could handle on your own? Was it hard find the motivation? How did you keep trying?

No, had no idea something was wrong with me, or how much impact it had on the people I cared about. I am a bit of a loner, and the buck stops with me. "Leave me alone, and let me work." Motivation came from a huge disaster at work, some very weird family stuff, and a pre-planned 3 week vacation, just wife and I. Refocused on her, really listened, and after returning to the mainland, got diagnosed. Still, 20 yrs later, still hard to admit I need help, but I will honor the vow I made in front of God and family, I will use the tools provided, and we will walk hand in hand, into the sunset of our life.

Thanks, Irishrose79!

And thank you, Plognark. He is stubborn. He doesn`t even take Ibuprofen if he`s got severe pain or high fever. I convinced him to take Ibuprofen once, and he noticed the good effect. I think that if he really tries many other things to get better, and it has no effect, he would give medication for ADD a chance too.

FreewayFlyer04, I appreciate your reply.

We stopped the subscription of our TV channels some weeks ago. We have started to slowly become more active. We`ve been in the mountains, lit bonfire, gone for walks etc. He just got a fishing rod, and he`s gonna go hunting when the season starts. I`m alittle afraid that he is very excited about making changes now, that everything happens to quickly and then suddenly it all collapses and we`re back where we were. But we are conscious about it. We have alot of quiet and relaxed time at home too. More quality time..
