Steroid Hormones

When reviewing the official prescribing information, it states that there is a increase in corticosteroids released in the blood that occurs later in the day.

Prescribing information is a official document administered by the manufacture

Just wondering what this means and if it could be harmful

“Amphetamines can cause a significant elevation in plasma corticosteroid levels. This increase is greatest in the evening. Amphetamines may interfere with urinary steroid determinations.”

This is the full PDF and it says nothing about what you mention. Where did you read this?

Wink Re: Steroid Hormones

The answer is simple: Hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis
Monoamine neurotransmitters help regulate the HPA axis, especially dopamine and norepinephrine (noradrenaline) neurotransmitters as we all know Adderall theoretically stimulates the release of/inhibits reuptake of.
The Hypothalamus triggers hormonal release (It makes 4 specific hormones also) –However, about 7 different hormones are actually released via the pituitary gland. One of these hormones is called adrenocorticotropic hormone and ut acts on the adrenal glands (top of kidneys) to start the production of glucocorticoid hormones.
