Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

EMTs said hospital wasn't necessary. No septis, no heart or lung problems.

Most likely issue: side effects from antibiotic. Going to the clinic in a couple of
hours to try to hash things out with new doctor (PA left the practice). Hate
having every other medication I'm put on cause more problems from the side
effects than it fixes from the primary issue. Always leery of trying new meds.

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

Saw new doc. She's sending me for a ct scan. Could be kidney stones. I don't
think so. Doesn't feel like it. This will check a couple of other things.

Good thing I haven't been able to keep anything down, need empty tummy for
a ct scan.

This is sooo petty, but Iím at happy hour with people I donít know very well and someone made fun of the food that I ordered. I was going for relaxation after work. Itís doing wonders for my anxiety. I feel like Iím back in middle school with my tuna fish sandwich.

Long difficult day. Was finally able to nap.

Tests showed Blocked Bowel. Could be side effect of meds. Any rate, doc heard
my concerns, ordered different anti-biotic and anti-nausea meds. Need to focus
on hydration (fluids) over the weekend. And see the doc again on Monday to
check if blockage is passing.

Clinic visit went well, except for blood draw. Lab tech had plug in air freshener.
If I'd had anything left in my tummy, that would made me sick for sure.

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

I've been in the the hospital 7 months and a nursing home for the past month, still on a ventilator and unable to do most things for myself after a lifetime of being dedicated to health and wellness. The loneliness and physical pain just rip my heart out every day. I'm here to recover from respiratory failure and a DVT that left me unable to walk, and I fear what the future holds every day.

My fiance has told me that he no longer wants to marry me, that even coming to visit me once a week has become a burden and an obligation. I've loved him with all of my heart for three years, and we were to the step of meeting with the pastor to plan the wedding and everything. I have never been so devastated in my life.

My cousin aged 27, just died from a heroin overdose, drugs laced with Fentanyl of course. The family had no idea he was using. He was bright, funny, young, strong and healthy. I would have gladly gone in his place. My life is essentially over, and his was just beginning.

I'm in the lowest place I've been in my life. I have missed these forums so much.

OMG, Lizzie. That sucks so bad. It’s good to see you here. I wish we were a little bit more active.

My husband came down with a stomach virus over the weekend. Now I’m playing the anxiety or illness game and will every morning until the average incubation time has passed. I hate my brain.

OMG, sounds like "it's a hard knocks life" was written for you. I'm so sorry
you're having to deal with all that. I sure hope the medical folks can figure
out how to help, but I know being in that lonely dark place makes recovery
so much harder. I've been in that place. Getting out of a bad marriage was
actually helpful, and if your fiance is giving up on you now, better to know
that now than a decade down the road. Sorry.

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

Warning: Long read. Long week. Finally doing better. Or ...

So everyone knows about the planetary alignment called Mercury Retrograde
and how that's supposed to affect communication in a bad way? Yeah, that's
what this last 2 weeks was like for me.

First I catch the nasty week-long virus that's going around and get dehydraded.
Doc at the ER says I have a UTI. Gives a script for antibiotic. Within 6 days I'm
having allergic reaction and call the EMTs out. Nothing wrong here, they say,
just call your usual doctor. Not my first anaphylactis reaction but no breath to
argue.

So a bit later I call the primary doc and get sent for a CT scan. The guy who
reads that says I have a bowel obstruction instead of a UTI, so the doc gives
me a script for a different antibiotic and says to chug the water. Two days
later I'm itching and call the doc saying I'm allergic to this med too.

Make appt to return to doc, and as I'm leaving the house the doc's nurse calls
and says my last blood test shows serious kidney problems so go back to the
ER instead. They of course have no idea why I'm there, but start an IV and
do more blood tests. I'm given a different antibiotic IV and checked into the
hospital because by now I'm in kidney distress, next step kidney failure.

And all this time no one can get a blood pressure reading because it's so low.
One nurse tried both arms twice and then both ankles. Finally got a reading
of 89 over 49. And instead of a normal fever I've been running around 97.7
and freezing cold all the time. Except when I break into a sweat. And the
whole time I'm going thru meds withdrawal (6 meds) because nothing would
stay down.

Had an IV running continuously and finally peed the bed early this morning!
Except that the nurse sucked and I laid in the puddle for 1.5 hours. Then
had icky diarrhea and called the nurse again (!) and got all that cleaned up
at last. But that was the tide turning (bad pun). And my blood pressure and
kidney numbers all improved and I got to come home. (Whew)

Only to get a call from my granddaughter 3 hours away in the city saying
she's just been in a car crash and probably totalled the used car we bought
her just 5 months ago. Poor kid. At least she didn't seem too hurt, the air
bags went off so some burning from that.
