Need Software for Desktop & PDA (Palm OS) Before My Life Craters
At a CHADD dealie we were told that even the most disorganized folk suffering from pre-frontal cortex brain damage can succeed with a Palm Pilot (Sony Clie was recommended as being better for something to do with the way the calendar opened up). People who have failed with every organizational tool can make great progress with one of these gizmos.
Except for me. Anybody use a software package for the desktop, hand-held, or (preferably) both that is easy, intuitive, and effective? What would you recommend? Thanks much. |

I've done pretty well with a combination of Outlook and an old-school Handspring Visor (about like the old Palm IIIs). I've started using the 'Getting Things Done' method from David Allen with some moderate success.
I don't think you'll find anything that is really "intuitive". For one, I think we ADDers are just wired differently, so workflows that seem obvious to application designers are counter-intuitive to us. Second, the differences among the ADD population are sufficient to prevent one size fits all. Unfortunately, it comes down to the bane of our existence: practice/repitition/discipline. Just remember, you will make mistakes, forget dates, etc., especially at the beginning. You'll have to try the system for a while to make sure it really works for you (just like any other treatment option or coping mechanism). Good luck!

My company provides me with a Cell phone, and all top level managers (including myself) were provided with a nextel blackberry. Its a phone, email client, datebook all in one. Its got some really nice features although the phone is not the best in terms of service.

I would recommend the Dell Axim X30 wireless handheld (pocket pc) with wireless and bluetooh built in.
Right now, the best buy is the Axim X50 but it's a little pricey... my two cents |
