Insomnia
Anyone found something that would help an insomniac gets a night sleep? I've been on the "sleeping pills" and have tried the excercise thing and have tried antidepressants that make you drowsy, and on and on. 3-4 hours and they have wore off - then I'm tossing, turning, and my mind races. I'm on Adderall but it doesn't seem to make it worse, I've just always suffered

Melatonin works extremely well for insomnia. You can get it at most any health food store. Walgreens sells it, too. It comes in .3 mg, .5 mg, 1 mg, 3 mg, or 5 mg tablets. 1 mg knocks me out in about 20 minutes -- and I'm a lifelong insomniac.
It should be safe to take with adderall. You can ask your pharmacist or double check here: http://www.drugstore.com/pharmacy/dr...er/default.asp sweet dreams! |

Connie, I hear you. I can't sleep for more than 4 hours at a time. I'll wake up in the middle of night and clean my entire apartment. Even if I take Over-the-counter sleeping medication I'll still wake up.

Connie -
I know what you're talking about! I take the (prescription med) Trazedone when I haven't slept much after a few days. I take Adderal too, so they're safe together. You just have to have a good 8 hours to sleep. Which kind of sucks, because I'm not always aware that far ahead of time when I'll have a sleepless night. Trazedone knocks me out for those wonderful 8+ straight hours of sleep. I get funky vivid dreams too!
