New to concerta

Good afternoon!
I am Michael, 28yo born and raised in Alabama. I am a husband and father first, I work full time in missile defense, have been a volunteer firefighter/EMT for about 4 years. Just started taking 36mg concerta today. Finally took the plunge and went to talk to someone to be able to take control of things. I first knew I had adhd when my child was diagnosed with it at age 4. Myself and my wife both took a week off of work to be able to study and find out as much as possible about adhd and the medications associated with it. Before my son, I was 110% against medication for add or adhd in children. But with the absolute wonderful results we have had with it, now I will be the first to suggest someone to go and talk to a Dr. about it, although I still believe it is often over prescribed and even abused in some cases, but not overall. As my wife and I were studying I began to have red flags pop up everywhere, and began to notice how all of these books and articles were more and more describing ME as a child, adolescent and adult. All the way from naptime in kindergarten to test scores in high school. And so I took a look at how I am now, at how frustrated I get as I am trying to move forward at work or in college but seem to fall short when I know I can do better.
So now I look forward to learning more with and from everyone here!
