You Know You Have ADHD When ...

You plan a day’s tasks in such a way so as to make efficient use of time and gas and so on, but as you execute it you:

1. are in a mad rush despite the plan because you didn’t actually get started until the last minute, and the anxiety from that leads to…
2. forgetting this or that along the way which throws a monkey wrench into later tasks being completed, and…
3. are swearing such that sailors would be shamed because the person in front of you is driving well under the speed limit on a single-lane country road where passing is not permitted, and…

I’ll stop there. Writing it was stressing me out.

Many of us have this problem - not understanding verbal instructions, or may not understanding written ones. Doesn't mean we're too stubborn or are ignoring anything. The wiring is messed up and the message simply doesn't get through.

My parents use to yell at me for what you said festilente.I remember my mom pointing to her temple and yelling at me and tell me is it not getting thru to you,do you think this is a joke?!Then I had my dad lecturing me in the future the boss is only going to show you or tell you only so many times and then heads are gonna roll and you will be on your way out the door.AWEE JAYSUS christmas for gawds sakes and he'd harp on and harp on it.Great for my self esteem when I hadnt even gotten to the work force yet.Half the time Id tell em to get lost because Im sick of hearing it.

WHich would open a whole nother argument and set of problems for not wanting to hear it and Im gonna hear it and thats my problem I dont wanna hear it and I dont know when to shut my mouth and jsut do what Im told to do w out asking questions and so on and so on.What a dysfunctional family I swear.

You realize that you are dependent on the "feline timer" to remind you to feed the cats.

You have been to the bank several times... but STILL haven't deposited the checks you have been carrying around for two months.

You have a task that you really want to do... but only remember after 6 p.m... for three days and counting.

You refuse to buy a hand bag that does not have a ring or fixture on the outside that you can clip your keys to.

You take your blood pressure med the minute you wake up but not your stimulant because you can only take that when you hear the alarm on your phone go off... and heaven help you if the phone is in your office where you can't hear it.

You find the gift you got for your friend for Christmas... 2010... but now can't find her address. (Thank heaven she is an ADHDer! She understands!)

My husband's grave is in the city where he grew up, about an hour and a half from where I live. I go up for several days at a time every month and always stay at the same hotel. The staff knows me by name. They also know that I will go to the desk for anything I need while I'm there and prefer that they not clean the room... because I won't be able to find anything if they do.

Housekeeping knows to check the fridge after I check out. They have found my spare room key, bottles of the tea I like, and my crochet in there so far. They know that I will be back.

One of the managers there will call to remind me that I have a reservation the morning of the day I plan to check in. She knows that I get distracted...

Start a new job and forget what time you are supposed to be at work.

I just forgot about my green tea that i left sitting on the bench with the tea bag in it and no its very strong and cold

when you listen to music more hours in your day than not

WHen you have a favourite song and you listen to it alot until you get sick of it and a couple of days later you dont like it no more because you are sick of listening to it lol.

When I also have to use the cooker timer to remind me about anything that will overflow or burn. Many times I have turned my bathroom into a swimming pool.

Walking around the supermarket with my trolley, reached down to grab something off the bottom shelf, put it in my trolley and continued off into the next isle where my entire world suddenly became a very surreal dream and I stopped dead in my tracks staring into my trolley that was suddenly filled with loads of things that I had not picked up, nothing in the trolley was mine......

In the half a second it took for me to reach down and pick food from the bottom shelf, I had somehow let go of my trolley handle for a milisecond and managed to grab the handle of a ladies trolley instead - not noticed and walked off with her food.

I went back to the previous isle where my trolley remained and she was gone ! I cant imagine what she was thinking !
