Stomach issues with dexedrine

I have been taking Dexedrine for about 4 years now, and I have always had a slight problem when taking the Dexedrine of getting a sinking feeling in my lower right abdomen. It was not a regular occurrence and I just let it be. However 2 and half months ago this uncomfortable stomach feeling has become a huge daily issue whenever I dexedrine, and made worse whenever I eat. My stomach becomes bloated, uncomfortable, and my pills don't seem to digest in my stomach. I take 8x5 mg pills a day, Mon - Fri with the weekends off. I also take namenda 2 x 10 mg a day.

Is anyone else having stomach problems when taking IR dexedrine? I have tried taking them with food and without food, doesn't seem to make a difference. I also try to avoid any acidic food / drinks on days I take my Dexedrine. I recently had a pill cam where I swallowed a pill so a GI doctor could check for problems. The pill cam did not show any issues. I only have stomach problems on the days I take Dexedrine, I am fine on the weekends. Any input would be appreciated

Re: Stomach issues with dexedrine

There is a med for irritable bowel syndrome you can try. I have seen it on the forum somewhere. It was taken for the same problem. It's prescription and the name of it is Dicyclomine. Also the supplement aciduphilus might help.

Re: Stomach issues with dexedrine

I have stomach issues on any stimulant medication. I have made note in the past that Dexedrine does tend to make you feel bloated. If its a big issue just switch to Brand name spansules. I dont know. Its not uncommon or bad really.....But your the only one that knows your body...

I was prescribed Dicyclomine and it unfortunately was not effective for my problem. My diet seems to effect the severity of the side effects but it is never completely eliminated. I don't have any issues using the restroom on a regular basis.
