You can go to the FDA's website www.fda.gov.
I'm on an FDA mailing list, called Drug Pipeline Alert. You can register at: http://www.fdanews.com/free-eletters/index.html

I recently began treatment with Strattera. Dexedrine and Ritalin worked well with me, but I could never remember to take the second dose in time(early afternoon) and the time-release formulations tended to keep me awake at night.
So I asked my friendly sawbones to prescribe it for me. I have given up on expensive psychiatrists for this function. Because I was taking a fairly large dose of the time-release ritalin - 54 mg (once a day) I figured I'd have to jump into larger Strattera doses. But it hit hard from the outset, giving me dry mouth and obviously working. Stayed with 40 mg. I can report that I can hardly tell the difference between S and Ritalin except for Ritalin's lack of dry mouth syndrome. The good thing about S is that it is not a class 2 drug so I can get it by mail more cheaply and in longer prescriptions - refillable. happiness. It's expensive, like all the new drugs are, so that's also a consideration. The list of potential side effects include possible loss of libido. Well, jury's out on that one for me, cause ADHD related problems already had me discouraged and depressed, which conditions don't encourage romantic feelings. Cheers ![]() |

The stratera can cause prostate problems in men, something to be aware of. I think the straterra for me, needs a little something else, not sure what. It is a bit frustrating looking for that magic formula...and sometimes I find it...and then it strangely dissipates. My dr says my metabolism compensates for the effect, and basically nullifies the effect by metabolizing better and by making the neurons immune to the drug action. Hmmm...sounds star trekky to me. Where is bones anyhow? He could solve this 1. Actually I'd like that hologram doc to look this over.

Jon,
Where did you find information related to Strattera and prostate problems?

my prostate...lol
And my psychiatrist, who explained why it can be difficult to urinate. Personally, since having a healthy prostate as I get up in my years, is getting more important, I'm a little bit wary of the Stratera for that reason. There must be better solutions. Jon Jon
