how to remember to take just one pill for my Adderall?

Hi there. New to the forums here. I have been taking Adderall since September and I was building it up slowly to the right dose until close to the beginning of December. Well now that I found my comfortable dose (20Mg in the morning and 20Mg in the afternoon) I spoke with my Dr and he wrote me a new Rx for the correct strength and qty. Well now i'm worried because for the longest time I have been taking two 10Mg tabs each dose and i'm worried i'm going to accidentally take 40mg at one time. I wrote "take one" on the lid for my bottle I carry in my pocket, but naturally having ADD I don't pay much attention and see that. Plus I plan on carrying my pills in this little keychain fob I bought. How do I remember to take just one without anything just becoming muscle memory or whatever and not even serving as a reminder before long? Thank you!

I only carry what I need with me, and I set a reminder on my phone that literally says 'meds 1,' 'meds 2,' 'meds 3,' 'meds 4,' because I was having trouble remembering what times I needed to take them. It takes a little bit, but after awhile, you will actually start to remember the routine and it gets easier.

Perhaps you could get a second fob of a different color - one for morning, one for the afternoon?

Don't carry them with you. Leave them at home.

Kai: I guess that would kind of work. I thought about this too but then I was afraid I would forget to fill up my fob/bottle for the next day and be completely screwed.
Peche: well I need to take them twice a day. Do you man just bring the two I need and leave the rest atty home?

Gam: Put your keys under your prescription bottle when you come home, and leave yourself a backup dose in your car, backpack, whatever.

I understood "one in the morning" as "one when I wake up".

I thought you only needed to take one outside your home.

But yes, in that case, I would only bring two with you at a time.

Or, just set a phone alarm as to when you are to take them- and have the message read "Take 1 pill!!".
