TICS/concerta

Hello everyone. I wanted to ask for some feedback regarding concerta/stimulants and side effects. Like almost all of us I started out on Stratterra about eight months ago. Also like most of us it wasnt doing the trick. So my psyc gave me concerta. This worked much better. He increased the dosage so that eventually I was eating 54mg in the am and 18mg about noon. I was on this regime for about three months. Out of no where I developed this very powerful tic. At first I didnt think much of it. It was almost as when my body got a little tired and I may start to doze off my whole body would violently shake and wake me up. Then it started happening more. It would happen while I was watching TV or paper work at my job. I told the psyc about it and he wants to lower the dosage back down and see if the tic stops. I would rather switch meds altogether and try adderall. I think the doc may be a little apprehensive to prescribe this due to the reputation its inherited. Has anyone coverted from concerta to adderall? Is a taper necessary to switch meds? Is that why he tried lowering my dosage first? I have tried the lower dosage and I dont think it is having the same effect. Is there a conversion table for amphetemines? Any help on this would greatly appreciated.
