Would non-ADDers be more empathetic if they spent a week in the brain of an ADDer? I personally think the answer is a RESOUNDING "yes!"

I would have to totally agree. Esspecailly if the persons brain they are "taking over" is a severly add person. I would think this would work for any mental ilness or disease. It would be a wonderful way to show teachers and parents of add kids and students just what their kids are dealing with on a daily basis. I know there is a video out on LD's buy Rick Lavoie about what it feels like to be LD, maybe someone should make a video about what it would be like to be ADD!

There has to be some way to do a temporary brain transplant... I know a few people who must have been brain donors at one time. O:-)

A week in an ADHD brain?
That's cruel and unusual punishment. Wait a minute, I just did spend a week that way. If I wanted to make an non-ADD'r have an idea of what its like, I'd.... Turn on 5 radios and 6 TV's at full volume and each one on different channel... Then a couple of strobe lights on different frequencies... Next I'd grab them by the shoulders and shake them and shout "Why aren't you paying attention to me?".... And if I thought it wouldn't push them over the edge, I'd give them some speed with alternating doses of Valium.... Then I'd get really cold blooded...I'd say "You don't love me, you're not listening!" -------------------------------------------------- Now lets turn the tables...a week in a normal brain... I imagine it would be quite peaceful and quiet... Only one thought at a time... Might actually be able to do one thing without getting distracted... Start something and finish it the first try... Get the check book balanced and pay the bills--on time.... Wow!

ADD brain switching
If you switch my brain with a non adder, well i don't know how i will react but i feel sorry for the poor non adder and mainly for his heart
Do you imagine , in an non adder all its body is tuned to its calm, easy focused brain. Most people don't know that their brain can switch from an unfinished task to another unfinished task and so on all the day ( and often during a big portion of the nigth ) If suddenly you put in this easy going body my unfocused, heavy multasking, infinitely fractal brain well i think the heart and many others organs will break. : |

before she left for work, i offered to my wife the use of my brain for a week-
said id get another one from a donor. she said the butchers shop aint open on sundays seriously, i do believe that if a non-ADDer, any non-ADDer & i were to swap brains, for me, after the novelty of being able to do math without using my fingers wore off, i probably lapse into a coma. & after the novelty of flashes of thoughts & bits of sound bytes wore thin, the poor non-ADDer could literally go insane. thats really not a fair trade, as i think the non-ADDer would possibly be getting the better part of the trade, as the brain hes using is uniquewhile the one i got was plain .
