Speaking of Exhausted- End of Week Crash & Burn?
Surely I'm not the only one.
I hope. Does anyone else make it to the end of the week and their body gives out and they sleep 12+ (sometimes 20!) hours just to recover? For me, Friday rolls around, and I am so fatigued and tired I am a cranky mess. I normally hit the sack after errands are run and DH is home (mostly coz I have to pick him up, lol) and sometimes WITHOUT sleep medicine, I will sleep 12 hours! That's unheard of for me. Normally, without sleep medicine, I can sleep 3 hours tops. Is this a crash from a week of running on medication and a body that isn't coping well? Or is this normal-ish?

Re: Speaking of Exhausted- End of Week Crash & Burn?
I actually think most people's bodies have a weekly schedule where they not only know what part of the day it is, but they know what day of the week it is. My basis for this theory is that almost everybody, whether they are habitual nappers or not any other time, seems to feel like taking a nap on Sundays. I throughout my life off and on have experienced a kind of phenomenon where I have been prone to depression on Sundays, usually around the afternoon and evening. I noticed this even when I was a very little girl. Your body obviously knows when it's Friday and needs to crash.

Re: Speaking of Exhausted- End of Week Crash & Burn?
I can relate! I can be in bed for hours on Saturday and Sunday. Recently, I have been sleeping less. I started a new med and I had not idea what I did last night. I forgot I pre-made breakfast and I was up a lot later than I realized.

Re: Speaking of Exhausted- End of Week Crash & Burn?
Instead of being depressed that time on Sunday I'm dangerously bored.
On friday (yesterday) I was meant to wean myself onto a lower dose of Ritalin so by the weekend I wouldn't crash so hard (on wed/thurs I uppied my dose - pms) but I took around the same amount so I am crashing pretty badly. I wanted to stay in bed but the bladder had other ideas. And the cats. And my thoughts wouldn't shut up or just stay on the same line of thought for more than 2 minutes. You should know by now how I feel about the 'everybody' theory - *slams face into brick wall* But then again I guess everybody slams their face into a brick wall when having to deal with frustration.

I like to monitor my behaviour, functioning and organisation ability on the weekend, to really see how much I need my meds. I also like to exercise and I tend not to do it on stims. The exercise itself is stimulating, if only for a short time so it's something I have to work hard for to get that result. If I have to go out and socialise I may take a dose because of my sensory sensitivity and my attitude around people when off medication is umm...negative to say the least. I think I've told my doctor about this. He usually just lets me do whatever I want with my meds, as long as I stay under 30mg a day. It's the law or something.

Re: Speaking of Exhausted- End of Week Crash & Burn?
Last night I tried not to sleep all night... lol, but 14 hours later, I was waking up reluctantly because I had to pee.... *sighs*
Maybe it is a body clock thing, but I never did this until I began taking the afternoon Ritalin IR boost- and I'm sure if I didn't lay down on Fridays to nap, I'd be ok functioning normally, just tired. Maybe I ought to bring that up to the doc, see what he thinks. Other than I'm a nutter, lol.
