Anticipation anxiety - anyone? what to do?

Does anyone else have anticipation anxiety when ever you have something that you HAVE to do on a certain day? I remember even as a kid I would get this bad feeling about knowing I had t-ball practice on Tuesday because I would feel locked in. Also I would hate it when my teacher in 4th grade would tell us there's a test on Friday because I would worry about it all week. It's not like I get sudden panic attacks but it's just this ongoing thing that makes me not want to do much of anything. Does anyone else have this?

YES. It's driving me crazy that we have this band concert on Sunday May 20. it's kind of far away and there will probably be some kind of drinks or something afterwards -anyway it's going to end up being a really long day. And probably really fun too but the DATE is just hanging over my head. plus I'll have to get all of my stuff ready Sunday morning and remember to bring home my black flats tomorrow (the nice pair I leave at work). ARGH.

Yes! I wondered if I was the only one... I don't like scheduling appointments or meetings because I worry I am gonna miss it or something will go wrong. So it looms over me like some heavy weight.

I also get it for things like waiting for someone to call me or when I know an event will happen, but I am not sure when. I ordered take out at some point and I kept checking my phone, pacing around, and in general just being generally neurotic. I can literally ruin my whole day. I won't be able to concentrate on what I'm doing.

I constantly worry about being on time for things.
Also, if I'm interrupted while doing something, my mind will remain preoccupied with the task I didn't finish.

Yes, I hate it! I have been putting off my dog's vet appointment all week and finally went today. I hate even making the appointment because I get so nervous. Ughhh! I'm still winding down and no.... I don't feel better now that its done.

Re: Anticipation anxiety - anyone? what to do?

I used to get bad anxiety whenever I knew I or one of my kids had an appt. coming up. I hated just calling and making the appts. The anxiety has since ceased almost since being on medication- but I still procrastinate and hate doing things I really don't want to do. I also used to have anxiety over ' what if's'.
