Food rush!

Strange title, huh? Well, maybe not so much once you read this. Is it just unique to me that after I eat a solid meal while on Vyvanse that I feel a rush as it kicks in hardcore again? I'm not complaining because it's working for me, it's just weird to feel that sudden onset just from eating. I know how the medication works, so I wouldn't doubt that eating triggers a round of lysine cleavage.

Re: Food rush!

Yep, it's not really all that enjoyable if you ask me.

Re: Food rush!

This happened to me every night for the very short period of time I was on vyvanse. I really didn't like it, it was odd and disorienting. It was easy for me to go to sleep with it still active, but I would wake up at 3 or 4 am with rebound symptoms.

I attributed it to protein- I think the worst time I ate a big thing of tempeh and a salad.

I think I made it worse by not eating all day- I couldn't make myself eat a thing until dinner. It was probably just sitting there in my system waiting to be released.

You might be able to manage its effective periods better by drinking protein shakes throughout the day, and eating a low protein dinner early.

Re: Food rush!

I've noticed this too...I don't usually eat breakfast, but when I do, it will give me a little kick. Not too much, but I only take 40 Mgs.

Regards,

It doesn't seem to matter what I eat but I attribute it to protein too because I have a high protein diet due to my bypass.

The kick doesn't really bother me that much, so I'm not too worried about adjusting my diet for it. I have a pretty high protein diet as is and even when the med is at full swing I can still go right to sleep.
