Stomach/Eating Problems

Hello Everyone, i took a break from concerta for awhile and just jumped back on since about mid june. The biggest problem I am having is that i try to eat a full meal in them morning and exercise before i take 1/2 a concerta. and then take a whole 18mg for the rest of the day. Every day it causes lack of apetitie. i don't feel hungry and yet i am depressed and sluggish chiefly because i haven't eaten because my mind is telling me im not hungry even though my stomach is. i try to eat but everything my mouth tastes like styrofoam on the concerta.

When i make deposit at the atm in my bathroom, I cry out: "fire in the Hole". afterwards i fart and burb so much it isn't funny anymore. When I do manage to eat i feel the medication working well but my stomach feels full which is just probably gas.The gas is so bad i can literally feel the gas bubble move from stomach to what i now dubb: the trail of tears' Also the other problem is i feel hot like im having a hot flash. I had the hot flash problem when i first started but it went away over the year.I took a little break and came back on and im having new problems I never had after taking it for about a year. sorry for the details but its the best way to get help.

Has anyone had this experience and found a way to get over it besides just waiting it out. Getting used the medication is double edged sword. The symptoms go away but the defectiveness decreases

Re: Stomach/Eating Problems

You take 1/2 a concerta? Are you splitting the pill?

Re: Stomach/Eating Problems

I have never had the problem you mentioned. Did your doctor recommend for you to split the pill?

Concerta is meant to be long acting and went crushed that goes away and it all gets released at once and the side effects can become more intense

Have you discussed this with your doctor or considered trying another medication?
