Obsessive ADD?

I apologize in advance if this question has already been answered, I looked a little bit but didn't see it....

Anyway, can someone explain "obsessive ADD"? I keep seeing it mentioned. It was my understanding that ADHD has 3 types: Inattentive, Hyperactive/Impulsive, and Combined.

Just curious, thanks

Re: Obsessive ADD?

There is no obsessive adhd. I am not actually sure what you`re referring to, could you give a bit more information.

Re: Obsessive ADD?

You know how you can make a signature? And some people will put on there what their age is, diagnosis, meds, etc? I have seen "obsessive ADD" on quite a few. Just curious. I could probably google it...haven't done that yet lol but I am going to Thanks for replying!

I did google it, did not find anything. Except for OCD related stuff. Like I said, I was just curious because it sounded interesting when I read the word. Lol I know that sounds kind of stupid. I think I might just ask someone who has it listed as a diagnosis. Thanks again for responding

Re: Obsessive ADD?

Have you read the Dr. Amen book? He believes there are 6 subtypes of ADD. One of them is
Over focused type, which has trouble shifting.

Re: Obsessive ADD?

Which Winnie the Pooh character is this referring too?

Me thinks Rabbit. Or Hare or whatever.

Re: Obsessive ADD?

It's not an official subtype but there are some psychologists that believe that there are some persons with ADHD that show symptoms of inattention because of a tendency to hyperfocus on a few interesting topics to the exclusion of other, more immediate and practical needs.
