add setup when your home.
When i come home i have an add setup around my sofa. I have a small table to my right with a laptop where i play an educational video game that doesnt require me to focus on it every second.
I also have a small foot stand where i put a 2nd laptop and surf the web or google anything that comes to mind. To my left is a chair with my guitar on it which i play on and off throughout the day. Then theres the tv which i leave on adult swim or the stockmarket news all day. then theres my blackberry which in also texting and chatting on while doing all those other things above. Oh and i keep 3 books i bought months ago but havent finished, near me, in the event that i want to browse them. This is normal to me...but i know its not lol. |

Re: add setup when your home.
It sounds like a good structuring of your environment so you can relax when you get home. I'm building my nest right now so I can't really say.

Re: add setup when your home.
I'm the same way, Chemicals. Sometimes I feel like I have every electronic gizmo known to mankind. Thanks to e-readers, I no longer have to deal with the stacks of half-finished books. I keep meaning to learn how to give up some of these distractions. They tend to detract from the time I spend with my spouse and son, and from the conversations I could be having with my friends and family. Most people who know better have taken to just texting me. Still, in many ways, these distractions end up feeling like weaknesses to me.

Re: add setup when your home.
I have the same setup. My boyfriend is NT and OCD and it kills him. He's constantly begging me to pick up my stuff and put it away. I usually give him the blank look like, "I thought it WAS picked up". lol
I have a spot on the couch in our hearth room. My turtle is on the end table. We are very close. lol and my sewing machine and related sewing nonsense is scattered about. I have 2 of those 3 drawer organizers cram packed with stuff from school and my laptop. There's also an leather foot stool that is not meant for resting your feet due to the capacity of items it has collected and a small sofa table that slides underneath the sofa and holds drinks or food. I have a messy room, it's upstairs and in the top corner of the house where my hubby has kindly directed me to put all my "trinkets" and it's a huge disaster area, but I love it and it's comforting and I know where everything is. I usually try not to stay up there, because like a previous poster mentioned, it takes away from family time or conversations I might miss out on. So I've made a little mess by the couch. It makes my life easier and more comforting. I don't sit anywhere else and I don't think I could.

Re: add setup when your home.
I usually have my laptop and cellphone with me on my couch, TV usually on in the background, and I have my watercolor paint set with a fresh cup of water sitting there too in case I get the sudden urge to paint something out.
My main computer desk is super tiny but I have pretty much all of my stuff there. Wallet, phone, my work access card, notebook, and lots of cash lying around. |

I have a nest that I used to keep on the couch with me, but it's now in a box under the coffee table so DH has a place to sit
