Don't care to take Adderall anymore

I can't believe I'm posting this after looking at my post history from getting Adderall but...

I don't care to take Adderall anymore. At first it was really good because of the Euphoric high of taking the medicine (side effect), but after a year and a half, it goes away and what remains is...

I'm focus, I feel contempt doing what I am doing but the negative effects I don't want anymore. negative effects I don't mean like dry mouth or no appetite

I mean like, I'm more happy without my Adderall. I'm much more sociable, much more fun, much more daring and exciting, much more likely to try new things. I'm really growchy and tend to get negative when I take my Adderall ... I become more "serious" and less "fun, down to earth" on a constant basis.

Also I am less horny with my Adderall, this is noticable because when I don't take it I get much more horny

Music sounds better, I LAUGH A LOT MORE **** , less anxiety, more willing to do stuff, just so much better.

This is mostly directed towards the Barr Adderall, Sandoz is less serious. I tried taking Ritalin from my doctor and it was much better , but honestly its kinda the same... I'm still going to get my prescriptions but I REALLY want to take them only when I study ... I said this 3 months ago but I still took it every single day.

One thing I don't like right now is I kinda get tired (mentally) throughout the day. I yawn a lot more and sometimes , WHEN NOT STIMULATED ALREADY, just wanna lay down and close my eyes. This is probably from taking the medication for so long and now not taking it, but its okay.

The main thing I like without taking it, I'm more sociable, "cool", I laugh a lot more, and just enjoy being around others more

When I started taking Adderall I thought I WOULD NEVER say this, but the first step to fixing something is identifying the problem right

I bet you are on barr adderall, try sandoz. Barr adderall makes me feel suicidal, tired, lazy, and zombie like. Sandoz feels how it is supposed to.

I feel you, I can relate to almost everything you say. I have a love hate relationship with Adderall. Been taking it for 6 years, since the start of college.

I absolutely feel more of myself off Adderall. It's after 48ish hours of no Adderall, that I really start feeling myself again. More social, relaxed, more MYSELF!

Do whatever you have to do to always get Sandoz. Call every pharm in the area if you need to.

In regards to getting tired: it's amazing what a 5-20 min laying down, closing your eyes, and resting your head can do. If you're able to doze off into dreamland even for a split minute, that's even more money. Instant re-charge. Set the phone alarm as a backup, and don't underestimate these power rests/naps.

Concisely, here are some things which make the Adderall more bearable for me:
  • Work out DAILY (at least 5x per week). This REALLY helps you calm down, feel sane, and make smart decisions. I almost learned the hard way never to make HUGE life decisions on Adderall. I find it's hard to use your "gut" in making decisions while on Adderall, and I can do it 5x better after a nice workout.
  • Eat healthy. Again, I'm very serious, this helps a lot. Lean proteins, whole grain bread, oatmeal, eggs, chicken strips, etc. Absolutely helps me be more productive and sane. Throw in some unhealthy stuff here and there that's fine, but make sure it's mostly healthy!

Re: Don't care to take Adderall anymore

This is so weird because without adderall I am less sociable/friendly/daring/all of the above, but on adderall, I feel more emotions, im not as impulsive, and im definitely more pleasant to be around, I have not tried listening to music yet, but when I wasn't on it I was always annoyed by it.

Just wait until you've been taking it for a while. Oh yeah: enjoy the Adderall honeymoon phase, you'll never experience it again. Unfortunately.

Re: Don't care to take Adderall anymore

They put me on Adderall about three weeks ago and so far its been a very nice surprise. Typically at work I have no motivation to really do anything so I just goof off. Never had any motivation to do things such as hobbies when I got home. I also was afraid to talk to people, my thoughts raced, my heart was always pounding because I felt anxious over the smallest things.

So far its been nice. The motivation is there for the most part. I've been making silly cartoons and drawings when I get home from work and I spend many hours doing it without getting bored. I seem to me more open and chatty with strangers instead of feeling nervous. I just went through a really rough break up the day after I got the adderall and surprisingly, I haven't really thought much about it. I feel content with things, which is where I want to be.

Sounds like it's working for you just the way it should be. Congrats on finding what works, it has to be a great feeling!
