Medication Question

Hey Guys! I was given lexapro and adderall for my add/anxiety issues. I was told to take them both together in the morning. Do you think it's possible with the initial side effects of the lexapro (tiredness, etc) - it could be overriding the adderall's beneficial effects?? I am just not feeling the adderall and I just wonder how that could be. Let me know if you think that's possible. Thanks!!!

I recently started prozac and vyvanse and have the same problem with not feeling the stimulant. i wonder if the SSRI blocks the action of the stim?

Well when I take muscle relaxants I still find the stimulants working.

I suppose it's different for each person.

I am only prescribed Adderall 10mg 2x/day but from my experience, you may not necessarily "Feel" the adderall. However, this does not mean it is not working. For me adderall enables me to focus and prioritize tasks in a way that I was unable to before starting the medication. At first I also thought it wasn't working but I slowly realized that my life was becoming more organized and manageable.

Try to continue taking your medications together as prescribed and go about your business without looking to "feel" the adderall's effects. I bet you will see significant progress in the coming weeks

I think a bigger Adderall dose could help or just stopping the Lexapro all together.

I don't want to be on the lexapro but I have anxiety as well as add and my new doctor doesn't want me taking the benzos daily for that. What can ya do? It would be idea to go with Klonopin twice a day and Adderall twice a day but he doesn't really think benzos are safe long term so I gotta trust him.

Now I am reading allll over the place that BARR brand adderall is not working...and I am wondering if that is the problem. Does any one have any insight on this? Do you take Barr?? Does it work? If you take another brand, does that work? At this point is it better to get XR version still made by the original manufacturer?? I'm so confused...

yes there can be the side effects can be different for may ppl

I took the Lexapro for 10 days. I had to get off of it. I was NOT having what it was making me feel like. It also blocked out the adderalls effects which was not good. My doctor told me to just take the klonopin and adderall until I see him and we'll see how that works. Today is day 1 of Klonopin/Adderall by itself and I already feel worlds better. I have lunch plans with a friend and I was able to clean my apartment. The lexapro had me in bed for literally 10 days. I am not emotionally equipped to deal with those medications so I really pray the dr. just lets me continue with klonopin and adderall. I've never felt so even, balanced, and "normal". So why wouldn't he, right? Thank you all for listening and for being supportive of one another. xo
