Colorado Shooting
If any of you havent heard, there was a shooting in colorado last night at the midnight premier of batman.
Such a tragic event, and at a movie theatre. Please take a second and pay your respects to all those affected by the incident.

Re: Colorado Shooting
I actually think this killer might have an obsession with the Joker.

Re: Colorado Shooting
Quite possibly. Just his mannerism leads me to believe so. He went in very openly, hidden in plain sight. He threw gas grenades and waited for both of them to go off before he started shooting. When he did open fire, he had no particular target and looked very calm killing everyone. He also booby trapped his apartment. If you re read this picturing the joker in a movie, it seems eerily similar.

Re: Colorado Shooting
That's scary. When I first saw the news reports for this (about an hour ago) I was thinking that this seemed like something the Joker would do... he was all about controlled chaos, you know..
I hope the injured recover quickly, and that no more will die from this tragedy.

Re: Colorado Shooting
Opening fire on a theatre full of babies...they were just babies!
Senseless things are just that. Senseless. Now we'll blame gun culture, media, parents, victims...then finally the killer himself. You just can't make sense of tragedies like this. I feel so bad for their families.

Cross your fingers he didn't have a stimulant prescription, or used them unauthorized for study purposes.
Everyone is going to have a theory why.

Re: Colorado Shooting
I have this theory .....that there is a group of evil creatures who inhabit the planet with us....only they're not human.....they look like us, and sound like us ....but they are not human ....
how humans want to be flat out evil, and enjoy hurting others, the more the better ....the planet has had all too many of them since the dawn of time .... I will never understand .... this is why I do not like humaity in general ....way too many bad 'uns......individuals ...yes there are some nice ones....but the race as a whole ...??? not real impressed .... ...I know , I know ...just contradicted myself ....but I guess I just dont want to think real humans could be that evil ..... say it ain't so ....

Re: Colorado Shooting
I know everybody likes pointing fingers and has their own opinions and theories as to the 'why', but it honestly seems like his parents were pushing him to get an 'advanced degree' when he couldnt get a job, or pressuring him towards higher study.
The thought of having to study material that is uninteresting to you for the rest of your life(and complicated phd material at that), being a loner, probably not having a girlfriend in ones entire life, and probably hating one's own parents as well. Yea these are all guesses, but im willing to bet they are all valid, and all these things do add up... Eventually making you explode, especially when you've been a quiet people pleasing person your entire life, and all the while hiding your pain and anger deep inside. Unexplainable? No i don't think so. Let's not blame guns here, let's find the root of the problem. And i believe the quote in my signature would've helped this kid. I think he felt that he was trapped and had no other choices in his life besides to blow up or to continue struggling at getting his phd. It's a terrible world we live in, parents push their kids to excel, excel, excel, but don't realize that it's not their life. Society, media, school, whatever, tell kids that they must do well in everything, they must be beautiful, and quitting, failing, or dropping out is what 'losers' do. Unexplainable? Just look at the world we live in, it's f***ing obvious to me, people need to open their eyes imo. Im not letting this kid stop me from watching the film though, f that. I got my tickets booked tomorrow evening with friends; I know one thing for sure, it's definitely not the movie's fault. Nolan has good positive messages in his movies, most people don't notice though :/

Re: Colorado Shooting
What a sad story.
I agree that there is no point in assigning blame but I do think that it's good to understand why this happened or what might have contributed to it. I don't believe that anyone is inherently evil and that these kind of senseless killings can't be minimised at least by putting sensible laws in place and providing support to those who need it desperately. |
