Sensation seeker: definitely. Highly sensitive: Not really, I think. Not in the sense that I'm easily hurt, at least.

I'm highly intuitive though; maybe that's a form of being functionally highly sensitive?

Re: Do you find that your a highly sensitive person, but at the same time a sensation

Sensitive can also relate to sensory sensitivity, not always emotions. I am both. More so with the sensory stuff.

I am a sensory seeker too. In autism there's less irritability when the person chooses the stimuli. Maybe it's the same for ADHD?

I'm so distracted by unrelated stimuli that in order to concentrate or even start the day I have to be surrounded by music, even if it's my own voice. When I lived at home my mum complained about how loud I was.

And now I go play with loud pointy laser thing.

Re: Do you find that your a highly sensitive person, but at the same time a sensation

^I used to drown out my own thoughts and other sounds with massive earphones... and I'd get really irritated when people in trains talked so loudly that I can still hear them. Extremely loud music is too much though. I never went out to clubs and stuff much because of that, and because I felt like everybody was watching me if I was dancing... and I can't stand people shouting in my ears trying to pick me up... and such. I'm a good dancer; but I always feel like I should stick to the same stiff repetitive movements of those around me. Perhaps that's just because this is Holland.
Also, when they were building next to the hospital, the loud noises kept me from concentrating all day long while my co-workers simply got used to it. Working on the Emergency Department, I never failed to notice alarms going off, even when I didn't even have a patient on a monitor. When it WAS my patient's monitor going off, I'd sometimes end up doing the nurses job just to make it stop.

So maybe I have a sort of sound-hypersensitivity... but it's always been like that for me.

Re: Do you find that your a highly sensitive person, but at the same time a sensation

Super sensitive to loud uninteresting sounds like screaming children/people, dogs barking uncontrollably all day long, beeping/timers, my cat meowing in the middle of the night, people talking on their cellphones loudly in public ect.

I seek out stimulation with food. Grocery shopping, cooking, eating, making stuff my family really enjoys. I think that rules my whole day. What I'm gonna make/eat next. Generally healthy foods.

I love sensation. It just has to be on my terms.

this.

Dex does help reduce my need/frequency of stimulation seeking, but I still have a problem with it.

I'm pretty sensitive to sound. When I'm zoned out, or sound /prevents/ me from zoning out I get really irritated

I remember as a kid being emotionally very sensitive.
