Neurofeedback books

Here you'll find neurofeedback books:
http://www.eegbooks.com

I've have read the first one - ADD: The 20-Hour Solution.
It's very good, the only problem with this book is the title: those 20 hours are not consecutive, they have to be spaced out over at least a few weeks, but more realistically even 2-4 months.
The book is about $16, thin (on the picture it appears fat for some reason), and you don't have to read the whole thing, just the most important parts.

The book is easy to read, but if you want to read original scientific articles about neurofeedback, go to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez and search for EEG biofeedback.

EEG biofeedback (neurofeedback) is a powerful technique. Before you say it's expensive - read the book! Don't miss that story inside the book about Hispanic family (it made me cry).

I'm setting everything up to start it. Most importantly, making sure I've chosen the right practitioner.

For the cost of treatment, couldn't you just buy the equiptment? As I understand, it doesn't have lasting effects so you have to continue treatment to benefit long term. Don't they have like video games for a computer? Then it would just get abandoned though, I suppose, eventually, like exercise equiptment.

I can understand even if it's just for a few months or a year, to be able to function better & know how that feels and maybe getting your brain in that mode you could learn to continue to function that way.

Keep us updated on how it goes, I'll be very curious.

The most important advantage of neurofeedback is that the effects are permanent, as far as I understand (EEG biofeedback was discovered about 40 years ago, you can check scientific articles and numerous web-sites).

I suspect that renting (or buying) equipment is not a better option than doing the entire treatment with a professional, but I guess it depends on the individual case. I will find out for sure as I go along with the treatment.

My personal feeling: I don't think various computer games and devices "for attention" that they try to sell will significantly improve your attention.

Hmm, OK I thought I read it was temporary. Thanks for the info. PS you can use the advanced search above to find more stories on this site. Try neurofeedback & biofeedback also. I found some people said they had good luck with it.
