Concerta has brought me into the present :0)

So, I'm on my second week of concerta (up to 36mg) and I am very happy with the results. I have been out every day with the children and instead of itching to move on or buy a coffee or buy some food or blah blah blah, I have just enjoyed the moment and for the first time I have spent some quality time with the children without and distractions. Jobs are getting done around the house and my thoughts are collected and concise. I have become the calm one in the house and my family are loving the new me. I know it's early days but I am so happy with the results so far. Big smiles :0)))))

Re: Concerta has brought me into the present :0)

My boss noticed a difference after I started Concerta last year. He doesn't know I was diagnosed with ADD, but my performance report was much better after the first month on Concerta. I was always getting caught surfing the web or taking too many smoke breaks. The concerta actually decreased my desire to smoke as an added benefit!

Wow!! I thought I was weird but I also think that Concerta helps me stay cigarette free! And I'm also on my second week and my relatives, co-workers (who don't know i'm on meds), and myself noticed great improvement in my behaviour!

I wish I could post in both of your threads (Florence1989 and Toadoftoadhall) at the same time because it seems like you both may have had a similar progression with your dose. So I apologize in advance for the copy/paste in two threads.

Am I right in thinking that you both went from 18mg to 36mg in less than two weeks? I certainly don't want to change the mood of this thread because I'm very happy to see it work so well for you, and that gives me hope! I'm just wondering while I read your threads if the reason concerta only worked for me for only a week is because I'm on a slower progression. (18g-27mg over a 7 week period).

With that in mind, did either of your prescribing docs mention why they progressed you so quickly? Mine said he wanted to progress slow to guard against side effects of too high of a dose too quickly.
