To parent in NYC - kids ages 4-5

It has been a long time ago that I was visiting this forum almost the daily basis.. my dear son now 8 was diagnosis ADHD and Asperger... he is doing now much better and this sept he'll start in a private school he is more in control and in general he is doing great !!!

the reason I decided to come is that I wanted to share an important personal experience that my family had few month ago and honestly I feel that I have to share with other parents an important information .

Last year I saw an add in a Queens magazine about a reasearch program for kids with ADHD in Queens College... you can check in www.qcadhd.org or call 718-997-4251..or http://www.chipslab.org/ the professionals were amazing with us.. my son changed and learned so much and so are we as parents.. I remember the program finished with a nine week program parenting classes meantime my son was in a social skill group next door... they were so concerned , this program changed our lives... our parenting skills has improved and my kid is a happy kid.. definitely big help...we were almost the last group for kids 7-10 years old... however, just today I saw again the ad but now it's only for children ages 4-5. I remember a couple of times they called me because they were concerned for my son after we finished that program..I realized that sometimes our lack parenting skills make worse the situation with our love ones, making so difficult to give them the help they need...

there is no cost, no medication, only you will see very carying professionals that they know a lot about ADHD.. God bless them all...

I hope that sharing my personal experience be helpful and can help another family like us ...

Good luck and don't stop knocking doors until you get the right one...
