Am i taking too much adderall?

Gonna keep this short and sweet please tell me if my logic is correct

Was diagnosed ADHD and RLS. He gave me perscription for Adderall IR 20mg.
I took it once and got stupid euphoric, calmed me down and fixed symptoms.Took it again after rebound and was fine again.

The same day that i got the medication, my dad didnt understand that they calm me down. he didnt let me take them at night, so i didnt sleep.

In the morning got another script for Adderall 30mg XR.

It took my symptoms away except for anxiety and it made me feel lazy, and feel like a zombie. I took it at night also and i slept like a baby.

Next morning (today) took XR at 9:30 with a IR 30 minutes later.

Just felt the XR, the IR seemed to do nothing, felt lazy all day.

I new when it subsided, got my original ADD symptoms back (hyper). Put my hand on my heart to make sure it wasnt low blood sugar. When it subsided i took a IR 20mg felt very tired.

Since i am Naturally hyperactive, shouldn't i take a lower dose of IR an/or XR? I mean, makes since to me. the less the MG the more i still have a little bit of hyper. And the more MG i take, the more it makes me tired.

Concluded this on my own , so took a adderall 5mg IR 15 minutes ago.

So how, exactly, did your doctor tell you to take your medication?

What dose(s) of IR/XR at what time(s) of day?

The "right" dose for people varies a lot from person to person, and you can't necessarily predict what it will be based on your weight, age, symptom severity, etc.

If you're ordinarily very restless, then you can probably expect an appropriate dose to make you feel calmer and less restless.

It may help you sleep if you feel calmer, can quiet your mind a bit, etc. If it's actually knocking you out, it's probably the wrong dose or the wrong med. (Then again, you're pretty sleep-deprived, it sounds like, so it might be understandable for you to get sleepy the minute your brain lets you do so.)

The meds shouldn't make you feel like a zombie or lazy. It shouldn't make you feel euphoric on a regular basis.

"Calm" is one thing; "high" or "happily stoned" (or "unhappily stoned") is another thing entirely, and not what ADHD meds are intended for.

So...how did your doctor say you should take your meds?

Only had euphoria on the first dose of IR. but after 2 hours i rebounded and my next pill was the normal effects. Both of the drugs take the ADHD symptoms away, just the XR makes me feel lazy and stupid, while the IR that i took today made me more tired then calm.
On the IR it says to take when seem fit, maximum 5
XR is once or twice daily.

He gave me the IR prescription the first day of my diagnoses. So im not surprised that the first one

He said that i need to throttle them and find a good rythem. I just came down from the addy 5mg, split it in half. Didnt feel ****.

But is that correct that I should take it in smaller doses? Because of my ADD hyperactivity? Like, as i go from 5mg-10mg-15mg IR, I get sleepier. So should i take like 5mg or 10mg to to chill me but not zombie me?

IMO take the 30XR daily for 2 weeks to see if the fatigue side effect goes away. Use the 20 IR only when you really feel you need extra stimulation, at least for first two weeks. Report back on how you feel, adderall made me tired until I got used to it, now it wakes me up.

There are side effects and an adjustment period your body needs when introducing a new medicine.

IMO, it's really strange the doc gave you so much and just told you to figure it out.

I would stay with the lowest dose possible. You said you can feel the rebound. Get a notebook and chart your dose and how it made you feel and for how long. Then make another appointment with your doc and discuss it.
I wouldn't wait more than 30 days.

This medicine, while it is extremely beneficial, can be very dangerous when toyed with.

Hope you get it figured out soon.

It may be that you need to move to a different med.

I read on other specific drug threads where people described similar reactions, and once they switched to a different med, it did what it was supposed too.

My meds clear my head. Slow my thought process down so that I can move/interact within my life more freely. It lessens my fidgets and movements. I can sleep. I can eat. It is an overall level feeling.

If you don't have the level feeling after awhile, I would discuss it with your doc.

It shouldn't put you to sleep, but it shouldn't drive you to lay concrete in your driveway either.

IMO, it should just put enough pieces together up top to help you along.

It is a help, not a remedy.

Some of your symptoms may remain even after the right dosage and medication is obtained.

I, personally, go to cognitive behavior therapy a couple times a week to help me with some of my symptoms.

Some things to ponder.

Low Tesosterone was the reason for the bad feelings. My parents are to blame, they didnt let me take it to help me go to sleep, so 42 hours awake at one point with 5 hours sleep every day.

I am taking 4-5 20mg IR Adderall to solve HYPERACTIVITY they calm me down. Taking 30mg Adderall RX to help me sleep

Due to sleep deprivation due to my parents failure to understand that i need it to help me sleep stay calm/help me sleep, i developed Low T. Low T symptoms: Erectile dysfunction, zero sexual desires, severe depression, unmotivation, helpless feeling.
This was making my adderall experience bad.

My Doctor suddenly stopped me on the medication yesterday to cure my Low T. Didn't feel withdraw at all only after the first 4 hours of stopping taking it, felt the extreme depression unmmotivation hopeless feeling hardcore.

slept 12 hours woke up feeling hyperactive, all low t problems were gone. started getting a more racing heart,dizzy, confusion, blurry vision. after 1 hour, i am feeling insane drowsy/dizzy but a racing heart, so cant sleep.
