Exclamation ADD is taking over my life. i need help!

ADD is taking over my life financially. Educationally. And relatioship .

I don't have a lot of money and I've tried to look for low income psychs but seems like they don't exist.

I havent been diagnosed but I have like 95% of all the symptoms of ADD.

I know buying meds online is super dangerous but has any one ever purchased?

Can someone help me with ways to cope.

Suggestions?!

Please DON'T just go buying meds online without a professional diagnosis and prescription... just DON'T.

Someone on the forums from your area will be able to direct you to a good local resource for getting diagnosed.

Otherwise, it's just TOO DANGEROUS.

Re: ADD is taking over my life. i need help!

I am rather new to the "diagnosed" side of ADHD but I have been suspecting for a few years now. I have no income at the moment (Surprise! who knew that an inability to focus and all the other ADHD symptoms would result in no job?) and was struggling to get my life moving again. I found out that my state and county provided services at little to no cost to residents. I know a lot of people say bad things about these places for help but I met with a respectful, intelligent/knowledgeable, and concerned dr. I am sure experiences differ in different places but I had reached a point of "anything is better than this" so I took a chance.

I hope you find the help you need and I know getting motivated to look is hard but somewhere, there is proper help from a caring person.

Buying CII prescriptions online at least in the US is a federal crime.

Re: ADD is taking over my life. i need help!

I would call therapists in your area and ask if they do sliding scales based on income. Also, most therapists have had training in govt. assistance programs and have a typed list available for free at their office. You may be able to have a receptionist at one of the places you call email you a list to available resources. If you visit websites like Chadd, you can drill down to your local area as well. There are tons of ways to get to the right caregiver, you just need to know where to look. I hope this helps you find a few more options than what you currently have.

Richard call yoir local CHADD group, and they may have suggestions for docs that aren't asking for your first born.

Have you tried applying for medical assistance at your local welfare office? You can get health insurance and be able to get coverage to see a doctor. Then you might also need the doctor's authorization to prescribe meds.
