my boy.
I think this is the right place maybe it should be in relationships if so, sorry mods. Jake (my sweet son) is 16.5. He is wonderful. I know parents always think their kids are great but honestly he really is. He is so smart ...off the charts! I often verify info with him. He is kind and caring. I gave him an extra 5 dollars for lunch the following day and he gave it to some girl because she had no lunch. I said " son whats her name " he said
" I don't know she was hungry " how can I fault that? Even though my money is dear how can I come down on him for humanity? He is learning to drive, lord help me. He knows his limitations. He doesn't know what he wants to do with his life beyond making a difference. I am ok with that. He has my sense of humor (must be genetic) and our family often laughs at dinner (I'm a big believer on family dinners) . Its funny, he tells me how so many of his friends hate their parents and want nothing to do with them. I asked him how he felt about me and he said "you and dad are pretty cool " who says that? He just started working at a haunted house being a zombie, his first job. Still as happy as I am I feel it is bittersweet. My boy, the guy I rocked, and sang to and tickled is growing up. I know our goal is to give our children wings but is it so wrong to want them to stay home? I am rational and know he needs his own life but I just get so sad when I think of these things. He is SOOOO awesome I want the world to know! But I miss him already. I guess mark and I did pretty well even though we were 20. There were no rule books we just rolled with it. (I have personally taught him when a well places f**k you works. ) I hold my tears in. I am sure I have made many mistakes, but he is my firstborn my son my boy and I have got to get a grip. Guess their is no point to this thread just pouring out my heart.

Re: my boy.
It sounds like you have a lot to be proud of. You must have done something right Sarah....er...or just didn't do too many things wrong...that would be more accurate
![]() Such a great feeling when your heart swells over your kids. Its ok to cry a little ![]()

Re: my boy.
Congratulations Mom! You did an AWESOME JOB!! Unfortunately, our little bundles of joy are ours for only a short time. I have one son....can I brag? I put pics of him up now and then on my profile page.
He is so far ahead of me,he has a life and friends who like and respect him, too. Something I never had,he must get that from his sperm don...I mean his father. ![]() I know what you mean when you say you are sad right now. We don't give our children wings, they grow them on their own,but what we do is try to teach them to fly straight, fly high, fly true to themselves. Sounds like you've done a great job! Your son has a kind, compassionate heart, and a sense of responsibilty too because he got a job! What a great soul! I'm sure you're a little worried too now that he is driving. When my son told me he had a motorcycle I suddenly knew what my mother went through when I started riding. Anyway, mom, you'll be ok. You'll celebrate all his acheivements through his life, and know that you gave him the best start you could, you made him a good human being...which is what us moms are supposed to do. |

Re: my boy.
You´ve done your job will mama. I am dreading the day my kids fly the nest. My daughter often tells me I´m so call and the best mum in the world and that I understand what it´s like to be a teenager.
I´ve come home today, my son is on the sofa with his friend and asked me for a cuddle, he´s nearly 14 but is still my baby boy. He´s got such a good heart, everyone tells me what a special child he is, even strangers. I have faith he will be happy in life because of this. be proud mama, you did good. x |

Re: my boy.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Well done Sarah, you've done a good job. Being called cool by your teenage child is the greatest compliment any parent can get.
