taking two tablets of concerta at the same time

I just started taking Concerta and I was prescribe with 18 mg but it has not helped me at all, I was wondering if it was safe to take two doses of the 18mg in the morning to hopefully get a better effect or is that dangerous because of the time release thing
Any insight would help

You should give the medication a little time to work at the current dosage and then talk to your doctor before increasing it. Doctors will start on a low dose for "safety" reasons - some people are more sensitive to the drug than others - and then they will generally increase the dosage until some results are seen. It can be a pain in the a## for us ADHDers, who are by nature rather impatient to begin with - at least I am ;-)
Your doctor may well tell you to take two pills - the time release doesn't cause a problem in that regard.
Good luck,
Greg

hey greg, question for you. what's your opinion on taking a concerta 36 if i can't get my script for adderall xr in time. i don't use concerta which is why i have some in the cabinet, but i am stuck home with sick children and do not know if will be able to pick up my script before tomorrow afternoon. that will not be a good situation. my general adderall xr dose is 80-90 mgs a day. any thoughts?

my doc started me out on 18mg, and told me to take two tablets after three days if that wasn't helping, and then three tablets after a week if it still wasn't helping. So I assume it's safe.

So far, so good. I may be going to 72mg soon though. I take strattera and wellbutrin xl on top of the concerta, so maybe I have other issues that need to be dealt with.

I am staying on top of things much more since I've been on concerta. I still have trouble with some things though. Overall, I like it.
