Sorry to say it but I LOVE "chick flicks"....um...best movie of all time -- The Graduate...also loved Rainman, Terms of Endearment, What About Bob (of course James), Mr Hollands Opus, The Goodbye Girl, Parent Trap II (with Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson), Wedding Singer, Pretty Woman, Big Daddy. So in a nutshell, LOVE Dustin Hoffman, Adam Sandler and Richard Dreyfuss and Dennis Quaid. Oh yes I LOVED When a Man Loves a Woman...

Types of music: soft rock, country western, folk music, oldies and rock and roll.....

man oh man joan,
i couldn't watch half of those movies~ instant cryfest. i couldn't handle it. I can't stand having my emotions manipulated so much.
I'm a drama, dark comedy, psycholigical thriller kind of a girl with occasional action movie tendancies.
however, "when harry met sally" is in my top 5 ~ at the end when harry goes into his tirrade of why he loves sally, i always hope someone would say that to me one day.

Okay, just read your latest post to "how to"...and pretty much agree with everything you say....esp. about loving yourself and putting yourself first (even before the boyfriend)..... So excellent -- go to school - become what you want to become - If he can't support that, I guess that is his problem. Right?

i'm not sure i necessarily agree.
i mean fundamentally yes, if he's got a problem with me bettering myself then (explitive deleted) him.
however, good things are worth fighting for.

the thing with les, was A LOT more than just the whole school thing. It was about trust, and communication,
and a best friend that held a mirror up to me so i could see reality.

I wouldn't acknowledge what was JUST a friendship, because i was afraid that such a mind set was shallow. . . she'd said to me "andrea, you're not attracted to les anymore are you?"
I tore a strip off of her.
but she forced me to look in the mirror.
I didn't like myself because deep down i thought iwas shallow,
but i finally owned my own mistake,
I love les, i always will.
but he's my best friend; and some times ~ and this brings us back to when harry met sally (sort of) ~ men and women CAN be friends.

Favorite movies... I like drama, action, & comedy.
I really really liked the Lord of the Rings movies- Beautiful Mind- Patch Adams- Office Space (What Life according to a cubicle dweller really is like... LOL) Monty Python's Holy Grail- Al Pacino movies (Scent of a Woman, Heat... etc) Orange County, Harry Potter series, etc.....

I've been really listening to christian music as of late... Like it quite a bit....
Also like Enya, Sarah McLaughlin, Evenescence, 80's, little bit of country... pretty much rock/pop type stuff. That's all for me.

I'm there with you on the Lord of The Rings.

It's so hard for me to name specific music. I really like Smith songs. I really like all types of music however, my favorite differs all of the time.

There are two types of movies I don't like.
One's where bad things happen to children.
And Love Stories with unhappy endings.
Other wise I love all types of movies.

ooooooooooooooo

Thanks for resurrecting this thread stori.

Hubby and I are huge fans of Director, Peter Jackson and Stephen Spielberg. Well done science fiction is a must-see, and historical. But it has to be very accurate because my husband is very knowledgable in this area. He can spot the smallest mistakes.

I also have what my 4 yo calls "mama movies". They're mostly the romantic-comedy types. I don't know how I ended up with so many with Hugh Grant. He's not a great actor, or one of my favorites, he just happens to be a handsome, British actor who can play two parts: the sweet and sexy, or the sexy jerk. And it's mostly British romantic-comedies I seem to love. "Bridget Jones", "Truly, Madly, Deeply" with Alan Rickman (dashingly handsome at any age, good guy role or bad) and "Love Actually".

And when I'm pms-ing: Must have violence! I grab Men in Black or The Matrix (sometimes Master And Commander but that falls under our well-done historical movies)

Funny you should mention Hugh Grant.
I seem to own a lot of movies he's in also. LOL
I love him in the movie About A Boy.
