Better vision on stimulants

I noticed lately that when I take my meds, my eyes are completely opened! Everything looked so vivid and all these colors pop. Its hard to describe but its like I'm seeing the world like I was a kid again. Everything was just so vivid like everything is in HD.

But I started to realize it was more than that. I thought it was just because I was paying more attention to everything but then I can see further than normal. I have 20/20 vision but while I'm on vyvanse or adderall, I think I can see even better than that. If I can, I wanna get tested to see if I'm better than 20/20 now.

Anyway, anyone else noticed that? I know senses can be heighten on stims but this is crazy, I didn't think it could improve my eyesight.

I seem to go the other way - I seem to suffer a little bit of blurry vision when on meds. Not too bad, but, for example, it's harder to read street signs over intersections from a distance.

Re: Better vision on stimulants

Yep-I get a little bit blurry especially in my right eye. I also feel like I need to look around more and not so much in line if that make sense.

But hey if it's working for you that is excellent!

Wow interesting. I thought everyone could see more vivid. I guess I'm one of the lucky few. It's so crazy its like I can see forever!

I guess its blurry for some people because its like tunnel vision when you get an adrenaline rush

LOL-well I am turning 32 and honestly think my eyes might just need a check up. I have never had glasses. Or maybe it's much stronger on YOU.

LSD made me see thing more lucidly. Things were just more vibrant and I felt as though my vision was better. I am ONLY saying that, because I use to use years and years ago, and LCD effects Serotonin in your brain, so I wonder if the Dopamine from stimulants can cause the same thing. IDK-interesting though

Oh yeah I forgot in my avatar I'm wearing non script hipster glasses lol! I don't actually need glasses.

Yeah I'm starting to think I'm the only one. Not many of my friends have ADD so I don't know anyone else personally that can see better on meds. I won the side effect jackpot? lol

That's a pretty interesting idea about how neurochemicals affect your vision or more precisely, the perception.

But its more than that, I really can see further. Well actually I should get an eye test. But when I'm on stims, I do feel stronger. I wonder if it also affects the muscles in the eye which lets me use the lens of my eyes better. I mean it does affect even smooth muscles in the GI track so I guess its plausible to say it can affect the muscles in the eye?

Yes, after my research on MS and some autoimmune diseases, I would definitely say it might. I have not specifically searched for the connection, but I bet if you look through clinical studies someone out there has made a connection and started testing.

Re: Better vision on stimulants

Yeah, when my 30mg dose of Vyvanse is peaking colors are more vibrant, like seeing through HD lens. It's a little psychedelic, the colors are more solid, bright... brings back a sense of childhood.

Coincidence, the same day I decided to reasearch if others have this same "better vision on stimulants", I saw this thread here, but due adhd lazyness I did not reply that day.

I get this same vision effect from low dose LSD and Hydergine, this last a ergot derivative created by Albert Hoffman. Hydergine is OTC here and the effect remembers a micro dose of LSD. I think the better vision could be due dilated pupils or d2 agonism. Hydergine dilates pupil and is a dopamine agonist. I prefer the dopamine hipothesis because I tested others pupil dilators and did not get the same psychedelic effect. This guy explain the dopamine psychedelic connection:
