I have been on Wellbutrin (200mg SR twice a day) for over two years along with 30mg of Ritalin a day. Has always worked great but for the past four months or so I have had a slight tremor in my hands and jaw. I was drinking a lot of caffiene and cut that out and the problem still continues.
Just to outline every possible scenario, I got a prescription filled through the mail order service Pharmacare for my Ritalin and it started immediately upon taking their medicine. The Wellbutrin I am on right now is from Pharmacare but I certainly hope that wouldn't be a factor at all. I have small chest pains right under my rib cage, had racing heartbeat issues recently but laying off so much caffiene has helped that I think. . The beginning of the tremors also corresponded with me switching back to SR from XL because it seemed to work better for me. I know what Wellbutrin does for me but I'm not willing to put up with a side effect such as tremors just for the sake of this medication, nor am I going to get prescibed something else to remedy a problem another med causes. Just looking for anyone that might have experienced something close to this. Also, anyone who has decided to lay off of Wellbutrin and how long it takes for the side effects to wear off after you do quit. Thanks |

Tiger,
Are you having any other problems? Sleeping difficulty? Shortness of breath? Lots of stress from any particular situation? Sometimes the cause is the medication. I know from experience that one may do well on a certain medication, discontinue it for whatever reason, and have a bad reaction upon restarting it. If that is the case, it may go away after a couple of months. If it only gets worse, I would stop one of the meds and see if that makes a difference. Definately consult your doctor before stopping any meds. Abruptly stopping SNRI's like wellbutrin, or stimulants, could cause serious problems...like seizures. Cyndi

Stress has been normal...
and I'm having no trouble sleeping. Although, I'm regularly not getting enough sleep because I wait so long to go to bed. I guess the variables could be endless, huh? I just hope it isn't the Wellbutrin, because it has helped.

Talk to your DR before stopping Wellbutrin. I recently stopped taking it by tapering off slowly. I reduced my dosage by one-half for the 1st week, then took it only every other day for almost a week before quitting completely. It took a good 5 to 7 days after I stopped taking it for it to get out of my system.
I repeat - talk to your DR before stopping.

developing tremors...
I've been hearing a lot in the news recently about bogus meds being distributed to and through reputable outlets.
