Non-ADD wife and new mom, loves ADD hubby (newly diagnosed)

I am here for my guy. I always will be.
I knew who he was when we met (even though we did not have a name for it). He has been committed to us and now our new family. Over the last year, it had been getting worse and we finally made it to a doc who recognized the ADD in him. ( I had suspicions) We are just about to start treatment.( yes, we. We're in this together.) I imagine some things will change if we find the right meds and support.

As his spouse and mother to our babe, I want to find peace in our home. I respect that this is a frustrating life to have, but I want to find a way to respect him in his path through treatment and respect me and our life together. I am reposting this on the Partner forum to ask questions about where to read advise on how to maintain a happy, healthy home.

How do you share the chores? How do you get things done? When it's an especially tough day, what do you say that allows you to be frustrated, yet not make matters worse. It is tough to watch him have such a hard time and watch my house slowly start to fall apart.

A relationship is a give and take. I want to set us up with healthy behaviors in addition to trying different meds.

Hi There and Welcome

I have to say I've read a lot of posts and yours cought my eye. You sound really dedicated and so positive when it comes to your hubby's add. That is really nice to see. I've been with my husband for 8 years and I have to say his adhd is still untreated and it's been the bigest challenge ever.
First thing I did when I didn't know what to do was I went and bought this book called "Driven to Distraction" I sugested you do the same. I woulf also look into some AD/HD calses. The most important thing right now is acceptance and education. Learn as much as posible about ad/hd. Trust me the more you know the better. Oh and I would stick around here for a while read some posts don't be afraid to ask for advice or even voice your frustrations, there will be plenty of those.
Good luck to you and God bless.
