This is Weird

Here's the link to a thread Ginniebean posted.
http://www.addforums.com/forums/show...07#post1582907

I was following all the responses until suddenly the new responses stopped
showing. The last one I can see is #17 but there have been quite a few
responses posted after that one. I don't believe this has ever happened to me
before and I'm stumped. Anyone have any ideas what's causing this glitch?

No idea, but here's a shot in the dark: message 17 is the first in that thread to include the "pi" character.

Okay. But why does it only affect my computer screen then?

Or maybe everyone after post #17 is just responding to the original post and
no one else has tried to read the rest of the posts?

Could you see the posts past #17? If so, then it's just my computer and it's
still very, very weird.

Oops. The PI symbol was me! I'm sorry! I won't do it again.

I don't know why that would have messed up only my computer screen and no one else's.

Re: This is Weird

OK -- I think I've fixed it.

It wasn't the "pi" that was the problem. It was some embedded image tag thingy.

[EDIT: Partly. Need to edit out where same post was quoted further down-thread! Back in a minute.]

[EDIT2: OK -- Lunacie, try it now and report back! I think the whole thread should show up now.]

Re: This is Weird

Thanks, Namazu!

That DID fix it!

Still seems funny that it only messed things up for me.
But having someone take the time to figure it out and fix it for me
takes away the paranoia somewhat.

It wasn't just you. When I viewed the page with Internet Explorer, I had the same problem, but not when I used a different browser, Firefox.

Web browsers can be finicky that way.

I see ... am I the only one here still using Internet Explorer?
My daughter loaded Google Chrome on my laptop but I hate having to get
used to something else so I keep using the IE.
