I really enjoyed that song for the first time today!!! Thank you! I can hardly believe that I missed every one of those ADD-related lyrics when listening to that song over the years, and it was the very 1st song on the CD too! LOL Generally, I tend to be more focused on the song/music structure whenever I listen to music. In fact, when I play, and sing at the same time, the hardest part for me always was remembering the dang lyrics. I've never had a problem hitting the correct notes vocally, or playing the correct chords/notes on guitar, bass, or keyboards. For some reason, remembering the lyrics (when playing an instrument) was always the biggest challenge for me! Even when they were my own lyrics too!!! LOL ![]() I think it might have something to do with my dsylexia, or perhaps the ADD, or maybe even both! I don't really know! I always had to make sure that I had the lyrics to all the songs we were going to play in front of me. Otherwise I'd forget the lyrics in the middle of the song and would have to make up some words. Also, sometimes if I wasn't careful, if I was looking at someone who was singing (lip singing) while we were playing a song, if they would suddenly (incorrectly) start singing the wrong words, that would also mess me up!! LOL However, I discovered that generally you could almost always count on the female's knowing the correct lyrics, better than the male's, and just by watching there lips, I could remember the lyrics easier whenever I was playing and singing at the same time!Dang it!!! I've gotten side tracked again from what I really wanted to write. What I really wanted to write about was... I understand that just "reading" the lyrics on a page isn't the same as actually "hearing" the song, so I'm going to try and find most of the songs people post in this thread, and then make a "ADD CD" I can listen to. I think that will be a lot of fun! Hopefully, people post more tunes!!! Anyway, thank you once again for posting. I really enjoyed the tune! Peace, *~ §EEK ~* |

Thank you for posting the lyrics to the song "These Words"! ![]() Truthfully, you really stumped me with Natasha Bedingfield!! I hadn't heard a single song by her yet! Fortunately, with just a quick search of the net, in hardly any time at all, it was like, *~Poof~*, (Well wadda ya know?) and I found myself on her Webpage listening to the song, "These Words"! ![]() I was pleasantly surprised, not only by how pretty she is, but also by the quality of her voice, and her talent as a songwriter as well! She's definitely storming the gates of pop music heaven, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there were better things yet to come with each consecutive CD she releases! B.T.W. I also liked the song; "I bruise easily" which I also listened to on her Webpage! I wouldn't be surprised if "I bruise easily" also appealed to some of the ADDer crowd too! Simply because Natasha's lyrics appear to come from a more personal and much deeper area of the thought than the lyrics of many of her peers in this specific genre of music! Which is exactly why I found it to be a breath of fresh air. However, I tend to be a little on the eccentric side whenever it comes to the music that I enjoy! I like different, and anything musically different is a good thing in my eyes! However, being a musician, as well as, having ADD, obviously allowed me to relate to the lyrics in "These Words" much easier, so therefore I enjoyed it the most! It's actually a nice, up beat, funky little dance tune, that may help mix things up music-wise, and create a more diverse and entertaining CD compilation of all the ADD-related music I'm still hoping our members will post in this thread! Well, hopefully I get around to making a CD compilation some time! I've finally learned it's better not to promise anything if you have ADD!! LOL Well, before my post gets any longer, I better call it quits!!! LOL ![]() Thank you once again for the tune xstarchildx! Sincerely, *~ §EEK ~* |

Ok, here is another song I really like!
--------------------------------------- Song: "Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot". Artist: Sting. --------------------------------------- Let your soul be your pilot. Let your soul guide you. He'll guide you well. When you're down and they're counting. When your secrets all found out. When your troubles take to mounting. When the map you have leads you to doubt. When there's no information. And the compass turns. To nowhere that you know well. Let your soul be your pilot. Let your soul guide you. He'll guide you well. When the doctors failed to heal you. When no medicine chest can make you well. When no counsel leads to comfort. When there are no more lies they can tell. No more useless information. And the compass spins. The compass spins. Between heaven and hell. Let your soul be your pilot. Let your soul guide you. He'll guide you well. And your eyes turn towards the window pane. To the lights upon the hill. The distance seems so strange to you now. And the dark room seems so still. Let your pain be my sorrow. Let your tears be my tears too. Let your courage be my model. That the north you find will be true. When there's no information. And the compass turns. To nowhere that you know well. Let your soul be your pilot. Let your soul guide you. Let your soul guide you. Let your soul guide you. Upon your way... ----------------------------------- I love that tune! Peace, *~ §EEK ~* |

"Locomotive Breath"
In the shuffling madness Of the locomotive breath, Runs the all-time loser, Headlong to his death. He feels the piston scraping -- Steam breaking on his brow -- Old Charlie stole the handle and The train won't stop going -- No way to slow down. He sees his children jumping off At the stations -- one by one. His woman and his best friend -- In bed and having fun. He's crawling down the corridor On his hands and knees -- Old Charlie stole the handle and The train won't stop going -- No way to slow down. He hears the silence howling -- Catches angels as they fall. And the all-time winner Has got him by the balls. He picks up Gideon's Bible -- Open at page one -- God stole the handle and The train won't stop going -- No way to slow down. |

"My Back Pages"
Crimson flames tied through my ears Rollin' high and mighty traps Pounced with fire on flaming roads Using ideas as my maps "We'll meet on edges, soon," said I Proud 'neath heated brow Ah, but I was so much older then I'm younger than that now. Half-cracked prejudice leaped forth "Rip down all hate," I screamed Lies that life is black and white Spoke from my skull, I dreamed Romantic facts of musketeers Foundationed deep, somehow Ah, but I was so much older then I'm younger than that now. Girls' faces formed the forward path From phony jealousy To memorizing politics Of ancient history Flung down by corpse evangelists Unthought of, thought, somehow Ah, but I was so much older then I'm younger than that now. A self-ordained professor's tongue Too serious to fool Spouted out that liberty Is just equality in school "Equality," I spoke the word As if a wedding vow Ah, but I was so much older then I'm younger than that now. In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand At the mongrel dogs who teach Fearing not that I'd become my enemy In the instant that I preach My existence led by confusion boats Mutiny from stern to bow Ah, but I was so much older then I'm younger than that now. Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats Too noble to neglect Deceived me into thinking I had something to protect Good and bad, I define these terms Quite clear, no doubt, somehow Ah, but I was so much older then I'm younger than that now. Now this one suits me better in light of being an adult DX ADD. |

Bouncing off The Walls by Sugarcult
I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa oh) I'm looking like a fool again (whoa oh) I threw away my reputation One more song for the radio station I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa oh) I'm looking like a fool again (whoa oh) Waking up on the bathroom floor Pull myself back together just to fall once more And my heart's beating out of my chest And this town is still making me sick And every penny from my last paycheck I've blown it on you I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa oh) And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa oh) So go ahead and take a picture And hang it up so you can tear me down I don't care Cause I'm still here And I've got nothing left to lose With all the years I wasted on you Momma and Daddy's got the best cocaine Ritalin's never gonna feel the same Twenty-four hours on an empty brain I got my finger on the trigger and your in my way I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa oh) And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa oh) I threw away my reputation One more song for the radio station I'm bouncing off the walls again And I'm looking like a fool again I'm bouncing off the walls again And I'm looking like a fool again I'm bouncing off the walls again

Oddly enough, I often find songs from console video games suiting my mood as well. How ADD is that?

by, The Calling In a life of our times Shrugging signs there's no chance for us It's not mine to decide You never listened to what I said you never thought I'd succeed And though I've given you all I can You show no faith in me And I remember, and I recall And I can see that nothing's changed at all Though we falter, we don't have to fall And I can see that nothing's changed at all Even when I was you And the pressure was on You always told me to do my thing So what the hell went wrong An outcast coming home, opinions stay the same They'll spit them out and spin me right back through the door The louder that we scream, the more invisible we seem Is it gonna last forever Now I'm learning the lies From the skies where they reign Can't find shelter for myself And you're all to blame

Very cool tunes my friends!! Now you all are really rockin'! I'm happier than a two tailed puppy! I thought this song would be a fitting tribute to this thread!!
------------------------- Song: "Hold On" Artist: Triumph ------------------------- Music holds the secret, To know it can make you whole It's not just a game of notes, It's the sound inside your soul The magic of the melody Runs through you like a stream The notes that play flow through your head Like a dream Like a dream Like a dream I sing this song for the common man For the people in despair I bring my song into the world And I sing it everywhere The simple truth lies waiting here For everyone to share So hold on, and I will take you there Hold on and I will take you there. The daily routine takes your soul, Lost without a trace It holds you down and turns you 'round And puts you in your place Another day, another dollar Another pretty face Another chance to lose yourself In the endless race. Hold on, hold on to your dreams Hold on, even though it seems Everyone around you has their little schemes Listen to your heart and hold on to your dreams. Can't you feel the magic Feel it everywhere Can't you hear the music There's something in the air There's a celebration Deep within a song Celebrate this feeling, You know it can't be wrong. Hold on, hold on to your dreams Hold on, even though it seems Everyone around you has their little schemes Listen to your heart and hold on to your dreams. Caught up in routine, You got to break it Time won't wait for us, We got to make it Fate gives you the chance You've got to take it Take it... Hold on Hold on Hold on... ------------------------------ Hold on to your dreams my ADD friends!!! Peace, *~ §EEK ~* |
