Unpleasant feeling Inside head when annoyed

Sometimes when I hear a certain type of people, I get an umbearable feeling inside my head, and it's impossible for me to control. It is for example the sound of footsteps on the floor above me, when the person walks fast or stomping their feet abnormaly hard. Despite wearing earmuffs, every footstep sounds equally high, and it feels like the sound is inside my head, like a repetetive clicking noise, and I can't focus at anything but that noise. Also sometimes when I sit on the train and a group of people is laughing really loud constantly for like 20 minutes, I feel the same, and I can even feel kinda dizzy, because it's like I am getting into a terrible trance where I absolutely canít think of anything else than their loud laugh. I always tell them to be quiet though, itís respectless to to be so loud in a train. I feel this inside my head but I can also feel tension in solar plexus, and it feels like I am being controlled, canít control this feeling. I feel paralyzed and I only want to get away from the sound. Also when some people sigh, it really sucks the energy out of me, penetrating my brain, and make me angry.

However I only get annoyed by a CERTAIN type of people, 90% of people do not annoy me, ever. And I donít get the slightest annoyed by any natural sound like dogs barking. Do you recognize the feeling I described when getting annoyed by people?

Re: Unpleasant feeling Inside head when annoyed

I have experienced this over the years. It's not fun. I do think it's more common with people with ADHD. There is also Misophonia/Phonophobia. Maybe we have mild cases of it, idk.

Hi Testo, I have no similar experiences, but what you describe was happening to me, I would be concerned and talk to my physician and ask his input. GL, -LN

Hard to put my finger on it

But what science is telling us now is some people with adhd often have trouble identifying and naming some. One. Or even all emotions

We can confuse emotions for biological signs or symptoms. The tendency is called alexthymia
