add-to-the-bone is on a distinguished road
Okay, So this explains some Things......

41 YO male, married for 21 years, two kids, randomly suceesful and failed in professional life, treated for depression on and off for most of adult life and recently DX with ADD. RX is Zoloft 200MG, Wellbutrin 300MG and just added Adderall (Titrating up).

As a teen I used alcohol and pot pretty extensively, but was successful in both academic and athletic endeavors. Well I need to qualify that academic part, scored a 32 on my ACT but got mostly B's in HS. Was widely regarded as someone who just coasted through school and never really tried. I thought I was trying pretty hard.

COllege was more about beer and playing football than academics, althoughqwhen I met and married my wife at the age of 20 I made some major life changes. No more dope and very little beer. I did start to self-medicate with food, particularly high-sugar content food and over the next 18 years gained a lot of weight ( as in on July 1, 2003 I weighed 431 pounds). Today I weigh 224 and am pysically healthier than I have been for years, but I do think that the end of self-medicating with food was what brought the ADD more out in the open.

Anyway, just wanted to get that first post out of the way and give a little background on myself. Glad to have found this place.
