Dexedrine with Wellbutrin ?

I was just wondering, I have been taking Zoloft for a while now for Depression. I now in a relationship have the problem most do with SSRI's. Score a 3 in whick your otherwise could score an 8 or 9 in the game of love. I told my doctor this so he said well that Wellbutrin XL is the best with Scoring. OK well in doctor talk has very little chance of dropping lebido. I am starting it tomarrow to finish out the last of my good old Free Samples. I am starting to wonder what interations my ADHD medication will have with it. I take a total of 55mg of Dexedrine daily and starting 150mg of Wellbutrin XL. From what I am reading it has a simular effect for some people as the Dexedrine. My doctor didn't tell me to wing off the SSRI to Wellbutrin. Just currious if anyone else is taking this combination or understands how they interact.

I had similar. Prozac-Wellbutrin-Adderall. I don't mean to scare you here, just read the other threads about it. But wellbutrin has the possibility of seizure. Just take good care of yourself, eat well, SLEEP WELL (this is huge!) and don't take more than you need. I was up to 300 mg/day (probably too much for me). I had lost a lot of weight too.

All in all, hey it was all good until I had a seizure.

Yes, at 300 mg the drug companies say there is a risk of seizure and my shrink confirmed that when we discussed dossages.

I just started taking wellbutrin for its dopaminurgic properites but so far almost 4 weeks into taking it I feel nothing except the erectile dysfunction has Increased

55mg dexedrine DAILY? That's an awful lotta dex, man.
I'm taking 30mg along with 150mg wellbutrin a day; it keeps me focused.
Maybe you should try 30mg dexedrine, since the 150mg enhances the dex but without the side effects of a high dose of dex.

55mg dex will lower seizure treshold very much; 30mg is a lot, and 55 mg is almost twice as much.

55 isn't really that much daily-- depending on a person's metabolism and needs.

High dose stimulants have often proved most effective with adult ADHD patients.

I used to take that combo. (I don't take any meds now. Tired of side effects.)

I would take the Wellbutrin at night (which would basically act like a sleeping pill for me). Something about taking it while on the Dexedrine made me go to sleep.

Had to stop stimulants due to tooth grinding and headaches and dry mouth and other side effects.

As an adult, I found low doses were better. Funny how everyone differs.

NB Get off the Zoloft for a while before you add another med.

Buporiron is an amphetamine (3-chloro-N-tert-butyl-β-keto-amphetamine). Through chemical reduction process - it will break down into what we know as Adderall (albeit - the chemicals to do so and the bupoiron itself make it cost prohibative). Factoring off-label uses, Dex/Adderall and Buporiron all treat the same ailments. Therefore, most Dr.'s will seek to reduce the dose of Dex/Adderall if starting a patient on WB. If the doses of both meds are high - it could create an overload of dopamine. I also wanted to mention that at 300mgs WB's seizure ration is no more or no less then any other stimulant/anti-depressant. Only at doses >450mgs does the threshold become cause for concern.
