Question CFS sufferer

Hello, I am a newly diagnosed CFS sufferer although have suffered with it for nearly 3 yrs... I've been refered to the sleep specialists at hospital... can anyone tell me what this involves? also does anyone know of any support groups for CFS within the UK, preferably bristol area.
help appreciated...

You go in for an overnight sleep study. They hook you up to monitors.

Many ADDers/FMSers/CFSers/RLSers, etc, have sleep disorders. And some of the disorders overlap.

For example, ADDers fall asleep during the day... due to poor quality/fragmented sleep, which causes sleep deprivation.

Chronic sleep deprivation causes fatigue/daytime sleepiness.

Good sleep is needed to consolidate memory. With a sleep disorder, Our memory/concentration/learning gets problems.

Glad to hear you are going for a sleep study. Your Doctor sounds on the ball, and up to date with research.

PS. do you have hypertension or obesity? They are both correlated with sleep disorders, too. (depending on how bad your sleep disorder is.)

In addition to sleep deprivation, some ADDers get drowsy due to dopamine deficiencies. I can't read for more than 2 minutes w/o falling asleep unless I'm on meds. Getting quality sleep doesn't help me with this, unfortunately.

My sister has all 3. I believe there is something to this theory. Will try to get her to take stims and see if they all improve.
