SSRI just in case

Am starting stimulant in a few days. Doctor wants to include an SSRI "just in case". I deny depression or anxiety. Any thoughts?

Well I would not take any medication "just in case", especially given the different known side effects that antidepressants can have. Maybe your doctor believes you are at risk of developing anxiety as a result of the stimulants, in which case there is something like Strattera as an option... instead of taking bunches of meds...

Gotta agree with ahalo here, but we don't know the whole story.

Is this a psychiatrist or a GP? Did he/she tell you why they thought you needed an SSRI? Have you complained of any physical problems (fatigue, back pain, appetite loss, sleeping problems)?

Trust your doctor's experience. We are all armchair professionals here. I happen to think an SSRI can be quite helpful in many cases of ADHD. Reasonable people will have reasonably different opinions, however.
