Honey, don't.
I was on Buspar and it did diddly squat! 90% of people who have tried it say it sucks. To be honest, it's probably going to be a waste of time. I'm assuming if it did work it wouldn't be very efficient.

I took I think it is very good because it is so mild that you cant get addicted to it and it dosent get you high. I just takes away enough anxiety so that you can have a good time when you do stuff.

I took it about ten years ago for anxiety (before I was diagnosed with ADD), and it helped tremendously. It took the edge off without taking away my drive to compete (I was in law school at the time so I couldn't lose all my anxiety). I didn't "like" it as much as I like Valium or Xanax, but with my addictive personality, that's a good thing.

Thanks for everyones input, i've been on it for about 2 weeks and I can notice a difference. I think it needs more time to get into my system but it seems to take the edge off for me. But most of my problem is that the meds work for a little bit and then they dont affect me later on. Has anyone else had this problem??

my new doc decided that i do not have add(after 3 years of being treated for it) and he put me on Buspar for anxiety. It has only been 3 days but I have had headaches and terrible muscle pain. Concentration is terrible. I feel like a wet dishcloth. Excuse my southern expression but I am a Zombie on 5 mgs of Buspar. I hope these side effects stop.

I hope it gets better for you too. The only problem I've had with the Buspar is that it makes me very very sleepy for about 2hrs after I take it, but after that I'm cool and calm. I'm on 15mg a day. I would wait a couple more days and see how you are then.

I was just prescribed Buspar for anxiety, since my occasional Neurontin wasn't doing very much. I have Xanax, but obviously don't want to be taking that regularly (it's my plane and dentist drug). Does anyone have any recent Buspar experiences? CrazyMeds.org just has like one line saying it's fine if you're taking an anti-depressant (which I am).

I hate starting new drugs. I'm always worried there'll be horrible freaky side effects like spontaneous combustion or something that'll only happen to me.

I was prescribed it but I only took it during my psycho pms time which was about a week per month. It's pretty mild and it doesn't seem to affect my other medications at all. Now I just take it when I realize that I have been raging all day because of hormones and I don't want to totally destroy family relatiionships.

I took it for a week, then quit. It gave me terrible insomnia, which did not help my anxiety. Back to just Neurontin.

I find buspar good for my anxiety, but as other says my doctor told me that is only effective in about 40% of patients.

I wanted something mild to go along with my ritalin to help bring me down at night.

My nero also instructed me that you have to take it for a few weeks for it to take effect.

Buspar made me feel drunk. Not as much mentally as physically. Seemed to counter my ADD meds some too.

it doesn't come close to Xanax. I think Doctors are putting people on Klonipin now. I don't take it but my husband does and it helps him a lot. When he does not take Klonipin I can barely live with him.
