Adderall and Alcohol

What has been your experience? Good? Bad? Do you think that it affects your alcohol tolerance?

Thanks!

Amphetamines give the illusion that your tolerance to alcohol is increased. A dangerous misconception behind the wheel.

Otherwise, they are somewhat independant agents.

I've observed normal people and druggies take amphetamines to help them stay up to drink longer.

When I used to drink (I don't now) never had trouble staying all night to to drink.

Either I don't feel the intoxication as much or it has improved my tolerance. Maybe you are at the same level of drunkiness as you normally would be, but the effect of the adderall masks the feeling of it?

from what i know and what i've experienced, mixing stimulants and depessants is a bad idea. your cardiovascular system is presented with a "moral dilemma" of sorts. does it speed up heart rate/respiration or slow it down? it's fighting with itself. this is why mixing amphetamines and heroin(a "speedball") is often regarded as the riskiest and deadliest recreational drug combination.

i know that in my experience, mixing adderall and alcohol has made me feel terrible and, many times, has given me chest pains.

I can't tolerate alcohol at all on Adderall. I can handle one glass of wine or one beer in a day, absolute max. Any more and I'm nauseated, can't sleep for feeling sick, and I'm terribly hungover.

That's weird. I can absolutely shove alcohol down my throat when I'm on adderall and I love the way it makes me feel.

Mixing amphetamine and alcohol or other drugs can certainly boost the reinforcing and pleasurable effects of the individual drugs.

Therein lies the danger if you are at all prone to addiction; the amplified pleasurable feelings do increase the liability for craving and dependance.

And, as I mentioned earlier, the illusion that you are not as drunk or as incapacitated as you really are, or that you can hold more liquor than usual, can also be a danger.

Just a few things to keep in mind.

You know the routine: you still shouldn't drink and drive, with or without adderall. If you're in an unsafe situation and you're getting drunk, you might want to get out of there, with or without adderall.

But the combo is not intrinsically lethal, not like mixing barbiturates or valium with alcohol which leads to a very dangerous, synergistic potentiation of effect, or in laymens terms: high probability of keeling over unconscious, and maybe forgetting to breath, forever-like.

I had a friend who took adderall, ephedra, and drank a bunch one night. His heart stopped when he was taken to the hospital. They revived him, but mixing uppers with downers is very stupid.

I think taking "a bunch" of anything is stupid. Plenty of people take Adderall or Ritalin and drink "downers" in a responsible manner.

Ok I take 90mg of Amphetamine Salts 30x3 sometome I take 120 mgs or 150mgs a day a day then Zoloft 50mg 1x day then diazepam 5mg when ever I need it usually 3 at a time once or twice a day. At around 8 pm I take 75mgs of a 100mg Seroquel helps me chill out and sleep. Ear plugs really help to.

But when I run out im fine with it. What works best for me through out my day and helps me to be happy and nice to people is Drinking Bawls, or Red BUll, Or Rock Star energy drinks. I drink at least 3 energy drinks a day. No coffee.... bad mixing with meds for me I start gettin the jitters and sh*t.

Yeah taking a bunch of vitamins is stupid.

I just wish I could get a grip on this hostility thing. I have always had a problem with authority. Talkin to doctors didnt work and neither did prison.

The adderall is gettin old though.

I am ranting so dont get on me. Whe I go see my doctor next month anyone have any recomendations on a medication that will help with my anger and bad thoughts?

Taking a bunch of vitamins can certainly make you sick. Taking too much Vitamin C, for example, can give you diarrhea and stomach cramps quite easily. It can even cause miscarriages in early-term pregnant women!

Everything in moderation.

I went to this party with a friend, and I took a shot of tequila rose, and maybe about 5 minutes later, I felt a little nauseated. But after like 20 minutes or so, it felt like the adderall had like re-booted itself like i just took it again, and I hadn't since the morning, soo there must be something going on with those two mixing together.
