Speed reading for ADD
Has anyone had students who use speed reading techniques. This seems ideal for those who have trouble staying focused while reading. I haven't been able to find any speed reading resources in my community, and wonder if it is worth further research.

It's not good for comprehension, but if you just want to get through it then whatever floats your boat!
I just finished a degree as a reading specialist last year. In order to read and retain, most people can't read fast because you're supposed to be able to think while you read. You're supposed to make connections, ask questions, immerse yourself in the book. I do have trouble slowing down though, and really have to try hard to remember to use my strategies. ![]()
