What is the wierdest place you ever found something you lost?

Please don't say the refridgerator!

Here is my wierd place story:

We lost a couch cushion - not just a throw pillow, it was actually part of the couch! It just vanished! My husband was freaked out about it - he was convinced we must have a poltergiest. He looked for that cushion every where - under the bed, in the kid's rooms, he even looked in the basement and inside our suitcases! I just shrugged and said it whould turn up sooner or later.

Well, a couple of weeks later, I found it hanging in our closet where it was snagged on a clothes hanger! Apparently, one evening after I finished laundry, when I picked up the pile of clothes that I had put on hangers, I accidently snagged the couch cushion and hung it up in the closet along with the clothes.

Oh well, it was as I said - it would turn up sooner or later!

Good one! LOL.

We found DS's Gameboy, 2 years after it became lost. The last we remebered seeing him playing it in the back of the car on the way home from a funeral. I thought he had left it in there, and somehow I had left the car unlocked and someone had stolen it. I felt terrible since his dad had bought it for him.

We found it in a boxed game, just a couple of months ago, one that we had even played before! We just had never lifted up the cardboard partition that it was under! We thought maybe he had put it in there to take both over to grandma's house to spend a day.

I found my car keys in the mail box more than once. I often checked the mail first thing when I arrived home from work. I guess I would have my car keys in my hand and so I had to put them down to pick up the mail.

In a house full of ADDers strange things can be found in the frig however the milk is often found sitting on the counter.

I once lost my favorite Pearl Jam CD for a few weeks or so. Turns out it was on the floor of my mom's work studio. I don't even remember bringing it in there..

Luckily it still plays fine to this day.

My husband has done that. He'll start taring the house apart, looking for something, and when he finally tells me what he's looking for (usually after 10-30 min of searching) I'll tell him exactly where it is.

Once after 15 min, and getting more and more POed he finally told me he was looking for his sunglasses. I started laughing and finally got out that they were on top of his head!

The weirdest thing for me is, something will dissapear, and then show up in the middle of a clean floor, in a room it never should have been in.

Gosh, there's so many things and so often that I can't remember a lot of them. Also my definition of weird has changed over time.

Some I can remember off the top of my head.
- Kettle in the fridge.

- Cling wrap in the fridge, (you're right there meadd!).

- My special builder's pencil - I do a lot of carpentry, and have lost it many many times - I have found it regularly in my hat, on the roof, in the drawer of a TV unit I was making, in the dog's mouth.

- I used to lose my keys a lot, but I have a special place to put them now. So, that's not as much as fun as it could be.

Oh, that reminds me. When I was young and stupid, (as opposed to now - old and stupid), I would wear those Ray Bans that the Blues Brothers wore. I went through so many of those - and I mean MANY. I should have just bought a crate of them, but then I would have lost the crate.

These are hilarious! Well, maybe they weren't at the time, but they are pretty funny to read about now!

Oh oh, I just remembered another one -

I was at the grocery store having just rung up about $100 in groceries (this was a few years ago when that would have represented a significant amount of groceries) and I realized I did not have my checkbook. I called my husband to bring me some checks and when he arrived, he handed me my checkbook...

...which he found in the parking lot of the gocery store on his way in to bring me some more checks!

i once lost my gym card for a week inside a textbook. that'll teach me to not do my homework.

when I lived in a residence I would have people in and out, visiting and hanging out all of the time. it got to the point where so many of them had left stuff behind that I got a milk crate and labelled it "lost and found" and threw whatever people left in there so they could get it later. the problem came when i started absent-mindedly tossing my own stuff in there - i woiuld search for things for hours until someone would come by, looking for something of theirs - and poof! what i lost would be sitting at the bottom of the crate. grr.

I can't resist refrigerator. I tend not to lose things as such. I tend to put things in a safe place or in a file etc I just can't remember where the safe place is when I want to find it again. I rarely lose things just misplace them (I'm trying hard to convince myself that I'm not totally hopeless when it comes to organising things!). I once left my mobile phone on a food rack at the supermarket (I have no idea why). I also go through the sort of thing like 'where are my keys?' Oh, in my pocket... what a surprise! Last week I left my cup of tea on top of the car when we drove off (at least I never did that with the baby like some people did a few weeks ago!). I also forget 'thoughts'. I actually have to physically walk back to the place in the house where I was thinking about something and it comes back to me. Usually there's a clue there as to what I was thinking about doing when I wandered off to do it. However, by the time I got to the place I was going I'm like 'what did I come in here to do or get??' It's true there is absolutely no method in my madness.
