Spice of Life

I am living a life that sometimes is nothingness
Boredom drives me maddeningly insane.
The tasks have become trivial and the
challenges are just no longer there.

Hunt for the challenge and adventure.
Maybe my searching is misguided;
looking in the wrong places will not help.
“I came that they may have life,
and have it to the full,” Jesus said.

Some areas of my life are full, others are not.
Work may leave me empty and at times
family life will be bursting at the seams.
Look to Jesus and my life will be abundant.
When I look to what it isn’t, instead of what it could be,
my sails lose air and the balloon bursts.
Enthusiasm drains right out of me,
heaviness becomes my constant companion.
My attitude begins to spiral,
when I focus on the negative.

“Living and active”
or dead and passive, what will it be?
Make my life an adventure and my world increases.
Where will that next adventure be?
Bland and blasé or
Spicy and flavorful, what will I be?
My outlook affects my experience
even if the events don’t change.

It’s time for some new adventures in attitude…
Jesus, be my Spice of life.
