Adderall XR to Strattera? Need some advice.

I've been on adderall since sophomore year, and I've had to increase my dosage from 15mg xr to 20mg xr, to 25mg xr this last month. My psychiatrist talked about things like "drug tolerance" and it being related to abuse and whatnot, and wants to switch me to strattera if this increased dosage of adderall doesn't work. I've considered it but I've read alot of things on the internet about side affects (but I've read terrible things about adderall too).

Everything on adderall has been fine with me, if its affecting my sleep patterns I wouldn't know because I am a very bad sleeper and occasionally have 1-2 week bouts of insomnia, but those occur regardless of whether I'm on adderall or not (this last one actually happened over a month long winter break after I had not taken the medicine for 3 weeks). I really have no problems with the adderall, my blood pressure is great, it really has helped me with my studying (the biggest improvement is my ability to concentrate during lecture).

I'm formally diagnosed with AIDHD, which stands for attention inattentive hyperactivity disorder. Basically I hyperfocus on a off all day and am really good at ignoring things.

I have only a couple minor problems with adderall. One is that it makes me antisocial. I love my adhd self, I am very outgoing, I love making stupid comments in class and making others laugh. Also when I am tired and am on little sleep adderall often times makes me irritable and very frustrated.

I would describe myself as a genuinely happy person, I have some inherent tendencies towards anxiety (my mom's on anti-depressants) but this usually only occurs when I am on little sleep.

I've read some things about strattera making people lethargic, and lazy, and this kind of scares me. I like my personality and I don't want it to change, and I am afraid if I take something everyday I could experience some unwanted side affects. I also like how on the weekends I don't have to take my meds and can be my normal sarcastic outgoing self.

But the idea of not having to take a drug every time I want to study, and to be able to just sit down and study for a couple of hours like normal people do is very appealing to me.
