The night is so cold;
I can find my way during the day ;
But upon nightfall, I am lost
Though my confusion is only temporary, I still fear that your voice I shall never again hear ;
I know that you shall return to me, coming back to be only with me;
But I still know that you may never return to me;
Your heart is your own;
And cannot be held in hands so weak as mine;
I fear even more, that your beauty I shall never again see;
I cover my eyes to hide from myself the sight of a grown man in tears over naive, childish fears;
My arms are so cold without your presence;
I miss your touch, I miss the way you say how you love me;
I am so cold without you;
The tears obscured from sight upon my face, they too grow cold;
When I feel as if you'll never come back to me as mine, you walk in the door;
Everything that use to be, now falls away from me;
Your eyes tell me more than words ever could have, as you turn your back to leave, you let one word come forth from your lips, too soft even for you to hear ;
Everything that fell from me has now fallen back to me;
The night is so cold;
I am so alone, my arms, my hands.... my heart; all are cold;
My life is so cold.
